Blackview BV8900 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Blackview BV8900 Overview
Blackview BV8900 - long-awaited improvements
The low-cost rugged smartphone segment has come a long way, but progress has slowed over the past year. Fortunately, some manufacturers are trying to fix the situation. So, the hero of today's review from the Blackview company significantly advances the photographic capabilities of phones with increased durability.
By tradition, the appearance of new items with protection against dust and moisture according to IP68 standards came out not very attractive. Standard problems are excessive thickness and weight, huge screen frames. However, the developer was still able to add the current form factor of a 16-megapixel front camera, a side fingerprint scanner, and a modern block of three photomodules to the positive features of the exterior. The 6.5-inch IPS display can hardly be called the best even in the price category, but it will be possible to praise it for its FullHD + resolution, a decent supply of brightness. But for some reason it was decided to save on the increased refresh rate of the picture.
Specifications are presented by far from new, but still relevant MediaTek Helio P90 processor, 8GB of RAM. For everyday use, this bundle is enough, there are no problems with the responsiveness of the Android 13 interface, application launch, if not instant, then fast. With gaming capabilities, the situation with the chipset is not so unambiguous. Some projects like Call Of Duty function smoothly, even medium graphic presets can be set. At the same time, the really resource-demanding Honkai: Star Rail or Wreckfest will already require minimal graphics settings, and even then the gameplay will be spoiled by lags and friezes. At the same time, no one began to save on internal storage, because 256GB of ROM can always be increased with MicroSD cards. It is difficult to find a person who would negatively evaluate the 10380mAh battery. It will only need to be charged once every 3-4 days.
What is really surprising is the main cameras. A rare thermal imager and a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens sit next to an excellent 64-megapixel Samsung GW3 module with optical stabilization. The device copes much better with evening photo shoots in comparison with opponents, which is noticeable by the preserved detail and less noise. But the sound is pretty normal. A mono speaker will not let you miss notifications, but enjoying music in the absence of bass is hardly realistic. As for other advantages of devices, their list will include NFC contactless payments and a low price tag for the specified parameters. As a result, fans of long-playing mobile assistants with good photo capabilities will definitely like the device.
