Huawei Nova 11 Ultra Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Huawei Nova 11 Ultra Overview
Huawei Nova 11 Ultra - when only the name remains of the flagship
The Nova line of smartphones from the Chinese company Huawei has been known for its incredible value for money for years. Its most expensive models easily competed with the leaders of the highest price category in terms of performance, functionality and photographic capabilities. Unfortunately, the situation has changed and not for the better.
The design of the novelty is really beautiful, some complaints can only be expressed to the dual front camera. 60- and 8-megapixel sensors will give a lot of excellent selfies, but they are too noticeable and take up part of the display surface. However, an impeccable combination of glass and metal in the design, a convenient and accurate under-screen fingerprint sensor, a frameless AMOLED panel and a memorable camera unit on the rear panel will cause, if not delight, then at least approval from the most demanding users. The 6.78-inch AMOLED display itself deserves compliments. An invisible PWM effect, an impressive brightness value of 1500 nits, a high resolution of 2652x1200 pixels, and a 120 Hz refresh rate help to perceive the AMOLED screen only positively.
On the technical characteristics, the above positive ends. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G is not at all the kind of chipset that one would like to see in an expensive device. Although, together with 12GB of RAM and the Adreno 642L video core, the CPU is also able to cope with all modern games, but already now in some projects graphic presets will have to be cut to an average level. Even the relatively inexpensive MediaTek Dimensity 8100 shows a significant advantage. With energy efficiency, but everything is in order, as a result, and with autonomy. The 4500 mAh battery organizes about 8-9 hours of screen time thanks to HarmonyOS 3.0 optimization, and charges in just 20 minutes (100W quick charge). 256GB is also not subject to criticism.
The photo capabilities of the main photomodules are somewhat controversial. The 8-megapixel wide-angle lens is quite simple, it does not always work out to get a high-quality frame with it, there is no telephoto lens. But the main 50-megapixel photosensor with hybrid stabilization and laser autofocus is ready to surprise with the detail of even night shots, and the video in 8K resolution is brilliant in all respects. NFC, modem support for 5G networks, loud stereo speakers add to the list of pluses of the phablet, then there are enough minuses. The lack of Google services, protection from moisture and dust, and wireless charging, coupled with a mediocre processor, seriously reduce the chances of an expensive gadget for commercial success.
