Huawei Pura 90s Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Huawei Pura 90s Pro Overview
Huawei Pura 90s Pro – a flagship for the international market
The Chinese company Huawei continues to regain its leading position in the smartphone industry, despite the challenges posed by the restrictions. However, the gradual transition to its own chipsets, their constant improvements, and the incredible combination of price and features in its phones have made audiences overlook, for example, the lack of Google services. Therefore, it's no surprise that today's review subject has every chance of becoming a global hit.
The appearance of this new device is extremely attractive. A variety of metal and tempered glass case colors, a unique, distinctive camera module, excellent all-in-one ergonomics, barely visible display bezels with an integrated fingerprint sensor, and IP69 dust and moisture protection make this device's exterior more appealing than many of its competitors. The AMOLED panel measures over 6.5 inches diagonally and offers a 2760x1256 resolution sufficient for crisp content. LTPO technology significantly reduces power consumption, while the displayed image boasts excellent maximum brightness of 4000 nits and a smooth, modern 120 Hz refresh rate. There are no critical color errors, and the oleophobic coating is truly effective.
Technical specifications are still the device's weak point, although the combination of the Kirin 9030S CPU, 12 GB of RAM, and the Maleoon 935F GPU has reduced the gap with leading MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets. An AnTuTu score of 1,600,000 points indicates minimal lag in MIUI 16, but some of the most resource-intensive games require medium-high graphics presets rather than the highest to maintain a stable framerate. There's no significant throttling after hour-long gameplay sessions, which is encouraging. The 6000mAh battery (5400mAh for some countries) guarantees about ten hours of screen time with optimized software. Wireless charging is 50W, but a wired 66W charger is available. Internal storage is limited to 256GB/512GB, so the latter option is preferable.
The camera's photography capabilities are good, if not excellent. All photo modules are manufactured by SmartSens. The main 50-megapixel SC595XS lens and the 50-megapixel SC535XS telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom feature hybrid stabilization, while the 12.5-megapixel wide-angle lens is simpler but not completely useless. A ToF sensor also helps this trio. Stereo sound has also been improved, with excellent volume and volume. NFC contactless payment, 5G support, and an infrared blaster round out the package, completing the portrait of a competitive premium model.
