Samsung Galaxy M54 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Samsung Galaxy M54 5G Overview
Samsung Galaxy M54 5G - a smartphone not without charm
The Korean company Samsung every year makes phones of the middle price segment more and more competitive. If a couple of years ago, representatives of the A- and M-series were significantly inferior to their Chinese counterparts in terms of performance and functionality, then current devices give a worthy rebuff. The hero of today's review is able to attract the attention of users with several more competitive advantages.
The appearance of the novelty cannot be written down in the list of its advantages, however, it has no obvious shortcomings either. Relatively thin display bezels, a neat 32-megapixel selfie camera at the top of the screen, an ergonomic side fingerprint scanner and a strict three-camera block look relevant, although the positive impression of the exterior is slightly overshadowed by the inexpensive plastic case. The 6.7-inch AMOLED screen is close in picture quality to flagship alternatives. The brightness margin approaches 1000 nits, the image received not only a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels, but also a 120 Hz refresh rate. The resulting content impresses with smoothness, richness and clarity. The PWM effect, unfortunately, is present, people sensitive to it will experience discomfort in the eyes after prolonged use of the device.
The selection of technical characteristics is quite successful. Built on powerful ARM Cortex A78 cores, the Exynos 1380 processor, 8GB of RAM and the Mali G68MC5 graphics accelerator are ready to demonstrate excellent scores in modern benchmarks (more than 500,000 points in AnTuTu v9), as well as smooth gameplay in the vast majority of resource-intensive games. Problems can arise only in titles that are not yet optimized for the chipset. So, Genshin Impact will be available at low-medium graphics settings, but they will definitely be solved soon. The CPU is energy efficient, and given the presence of a 6000mAh battery in the device, then autonomy can only be praised. The number of hours of active screen time often reaches 9-10. Fast charging at 25W helps to get 100% battery capacity in about two hours. Surprisingly, the pro developer did not remove the possibility of expanding the internal memory. Thus, 128/256GB of ROM can be increased with MicroSD cards.
The photo capabilities of the main cameras have undergone a significant upgrade. Now photomodules are headed by a 108-megapixel sensor with optical stabilization. Such an innovation is perfectly reflected in the detailing of evening shots and shots taken indoors. There are fewer smears, the noise has almost disappeared. Auxiliary modules are less interesting, of which only an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens is useful at least somewhere. The sound is somewhat annoying. There are no stereo speakers, the only emitter, although loud, is still deprived of bass. But the list of advantages is replenished with Android 13, NFC contactless payment, and support for 5G networks. And the reasonable price once again hints at the relevance of the phablet and its attractiveness to the audience.
