Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro – a slight departure from the norm

The flagship smartphone line from the Korean company Samsung has always been extensive, covering a significant portion of the upper price segment. The Pro version was the optimal choice for those seeking the technology, functionality, and ergonomics of their mobile assistant. And while last year the developer decided not to release a model with the aforementioned index and experimented with the ultra-slim Edge phone, today everything has returned to normal. Or maybe not quite? Let's find out.

The appearance of the new model continues the design concept of its predecessors. While one might be tired of the familiar case shapes and identical camera designs, the exterior remains stylish and understated, possessing its own charisma. Furthermore, the display bezels, which house a built-in ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, are now even thinner. The 6.47-inch AMOLED panel has a standard FullHD+ resolution, so image clarity is decent, but nothing more. However, images are smooth at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, color calibration is accurate, and the 4000 nit brightness level improves user comfort in direct sunlight. The quality of the oleophobic coating is also commendable, but the manufacturer still doesn't address the PWM effect. Those sensitive to it are unlikely to be pleased.

The technical specifications include the latest sixth-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 12 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 845 graphics adapter. Performance significantly exceeds four million points in the AnTuTu benchmark, making this a device that gamers will definitely appreciate. Any resource-intensive game runs smoothly at maximum graphics settings, with a frame rate consistently exceeding 90-100 frames per second. Throttling does become noticeable after hour-long gameplay sessions, but it has little impact on the stability of games. The battery capacity has been increased to 5200 mAh, delivering a reasonable 8-9 hours of screen-on time. It's not a record, but it's decent. However, the 25W wireless charging is disappointing; sometimes you'll have to resort to the faster 60W wired alternative. Storage options include 256/512/1024GB.

Photo capabilities are in keeping with the phablet class. The large, high-quality 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP2 sensor and 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom match camera phones in daytime and evening image detail and are only slightly inferior in noise reduction. This is largely due to the hybrid image stabilization and advanced autofocus system. The 50-megapixel wide-angle lens is simpler but still usable even in complex shooting scenarios. IP69 water resistance, eSIM, NFC, and 5G support round out the device's appeal, making it quite attractive even with its hefty price tag.
