The Chinese company Xiaomi over the past few years has radically changed its image. If earlier the corporation provided inexpensive devices with off-scale parameters of price and quality, for which minor shortcomings were forgiven, today the manufacturer feels like a full-fledged A-brand capable of making expensive, but at the same time almost perfect mobile gadgets. It's a pity that in reality the company's products still have problems, as can be seen from the hero of the review.

The exterior of the novelty is definitely one of its strengths. The form factor of a pair of selfie cameras in the style of the new Apple iPhone, a thin glass body with an attractive triple camera unit, minimal display bezels help the device look better than other expensive flagships. The 6.55-inch AMOLED panel also did not save. It is completely free from the PWM effect, and also has a huge margin of brightness, a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels. The built-in fingerprint scanner is quite accurate and does not cause discomfort, and the oleophobic coating turned out to be of high quality.

Specifications could be more impressive given the price tag of the device. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 CPU, 8GB of RAM and the Adreno 662 GPU are ready to provide comfortable gameplay at high graphics presets in all games, however, the maximum settings in Genshin Impact and Fortnite will upset friezes and frame rate drops in dynamic scenes. The chipset is also very energy efficient for the gaming power it provides. The 4500mAh battery lasts for a day and a half, charging at 67W allows you to gain full battery capacity in 25 minutes. There are two ROM configurations: 128GB and 256GB. Since there is no microSD card slot, the second option is highly recommended.

The main cameras are more of a cause for frustration. Mediocre 8 and 2-megapixel auxiliary sensors are adjacent to the well-known 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 module, which, unfortunately, lacks optical stabilization. If daytime photos are not easy to distinguish from those of camera phones, then evening shots are spoiled by noise, deterioration in detail, and the presence of blurring of small objects. Stereo sound is present, the upper speaker is quieter than the lower one, but together they give a balanced sound with audible bass. NFC contactless payment, 5G support, an infrared port for controlling household appliances are also available, but all the advantages mentioned cannot smooth out the impression of problems with photo capabilities and the overpriced phablet.
