The Chinese company Xiaomi surprises the smartphone market less often than it did 10-15 years ago. After all, the manufacturer no longer needs to announce itself to the world, having long since become one of the industry leaders. However, the developer hasn't completely left us without revolutions in price segments. Meet the hero of today's review, ready to please even the most discerning buyer.
The appearance of the new device is quite austere and minimalist. The neat, barely visible photo module block, the rounded corners of the all-in-one device, the choice of metal and tempered glass as construction materials, impressive IP68 water resistance, and the thin display bezels with an integrated fingerprint scanner evoke positive emotions, although it's not particularly beautiful. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display boasts a well-balanced 2772x1280 resolution for its diagonal size, maintaining both energy efficiency and image clarity. But the main achievement is the incredibly smooth display at a refresh rate of 185 Hz. Peak brightness has been increased to 5000 nits, and significant work has been done to enhance natural color reproduction.
The device's technical specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 12 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 840 GPU. Considering the device's reasonable price, this combination is truly impressive. Performance exceeds three million points in the AnTuTu benchmark, and resource-intensive games can be played at maximum graphics settings without worrying about lag or stuttering. The frame rate, meanwhile, generally exceeds 100 frames per second. However, throttling does occur during extended gaming sessions, but it's not noticeable outside of synthetic benchmarks. The 8000mAh battery boosts battery life to 12-15 hours of screen time, and 50W wireless charging is now available. 100W wired charging will be available as well. 256GB/512GB of storage is available, and there's no microSD card slot.
The large 200MP main sensor and 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom feature hybrid image stabilization, ensuring highly detailed photos and videos in evening or even nighttime shooting. While some noise and blur are visible when zooming in, it's manageable. The 50MP wide-angle lens is more basic, but will definitely be useful for daytime photo shoots. The volume and stereo sound, IR port, eSIM and 5G support are a welcome addition to the extensive list of advantages, which is virtually unmarred by any serious drawbacks. This gadget definitely deserves increased attention.
