Xiaomi Redmi 13R 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi 13R 5G Overview
Xiaomi Redmi 13R 5G - an abundance of compromises for a decent result?
The Chinese company Redmi (a sub-brand of Xiaomi Corporation) continues to expand its range of smartphones in the lower price segment. And even though in order to contain costs during the global economic crisis, the manufacturer has to sacrifice many parameters of new products, the final version still turns out to be balanced and interesting for the buyer.
The design of the phone is not bad, but it is unlikely to be a delight for a sophisticated user. There is a stylish dual photo module, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and really good colors for the rear panels, but it’s hard not to notice the display frames and the poor-quality plastic of the case. The 6.74-inch IPS screen with HD+ resolution will not amaze you with the detail of the image, but it also has strengths in the form of a 90-Hz picture refresh rate, realistic color reproduction, and a good brightness reserve for the price category. It’s a pity that the oleophobic coating was not included in the list.
The technical characteristics were MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ CPU, 4GB of RAM and Mali G57MC2 graphics adapter. In reality, this is not a particularly new combination, because it is based on the 700 chip. However, the processor has increased energy efficiency and less heating, which has a positive effect on the performance of the Android 13 interface (MIUI shell). Of course, gamers will not be left idle, but they will not have access to all existing games. Thus, truly resource-intensive projects like Honkai: Star Rail will be replete with stutters even with minimal graphics presets due to the small amount of RAM. But the internal storage has been increased to 128GB, and there is also a slot for MicroSD cards.
It is unlikely that anyone will complain about the autonomy of the phablet, because the 5000 mAh battery can easily withstand about a day and a half of active use. Only the charging power is disappointing (maximum - 18W, included charger - 10W), you will have to stay at the outlet for a long time. There is also nothing surprising in the sound of a single speaker, and sometimes it lacks volume. The photographic capabilities of the main 50- and 0.3-megapixel cameras do not differ from those of opponents. You can count on high-quality daytime shots with static objects; other scenarios are less successful for photo sensors. There are no NFC contactless payments, which will be a critical disadvantage for some of the audience. However, the shortcomings of the device are compensated by its advantages and a very affordable price.
