Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Overview
Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Max - the ultimate for budget-conscious users
Many mobile device enthusiasts are looking for the best price-performance ratio in their future devices. And mid-range smartphones from the Chinese company Xiaomi are often the most attractive on the market in this regard. The hero of today's review strives to combine a beautiful exterior, decent performance, and incredible battery life at a reasonable price.
The appearance of the new device is stylish, albeit rather ordinary for the manufacturer. The rounded corners of the all-in-one design, the neat compact camera module, the variety of colors and textures of the tempered glass back panels, and the thin screen bezels with an integrated fingerprint scanner leave a positive impression, which is further enhanced by IP68 water resistance. However, the metal frame, which feels so pleasantly cool in the palm, is missing. The large, nearly seven-inch AMOLED panel boasts a good resolution of 2772x1280 pixels for its diagonal size, offering no shortage of image clarity. There's no skimping on image smoothness (120 Hz refresh rate) or peak brightness, which reaches a near-flagship 3500 nits. Color reproduction is also calibrated without significant errors.
The specifications include a fresh Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, 8GB/12GB of RAM, and an Adreno 812 GPU. This combination scores over a million points in AnTuTu, offering ample gaming performance. The vast majority of modern games will be playable at a stable framerate and medium-high graphics settings. The latest chipset is energy-efficient and doesn't generate significant heat, so throttling is virtually eliminated. Battery life easily exceeds 15 hours of screen-on time, thanks to a phenomenal 9210 mAh battery. 100W charging significantly reduces the time spent near a power outlet. Internal storage options range from 128GB to 512GB.
Photography capabilities aren't impressive, but they're sufficient for artistic photography. There's no telephoto lens, but the secondary 8-megapixel wide-angle lens is useful during the day for static subjects. Thankfully, there's a 50-megapixel main sensor, which is more than capable of handling evening photos. Detail is above standard; noise and blur are imperceptible to the naked eye. Of course, stereo sound is also impressive, and it's quite rich and loud for its class. The IR port, which is essential for many for controlling home appliances, support for 5G networks and NFC contactless payments, and, of course, the affordable price tag will further entice people to purchase this gadget. It looks like we're on the verge of a potential hit.
