Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro Overview
ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro - gaming bestseller
Smartphones for gamers from the Taiwanese company Asus have always been very popular, but it was impossible to call them ideal. Typically, these gadgets had problems with photo capabilities and were deprived of some functions that were important for representatives of the highest price segment. However, the hero of today's review is noticeably superior to its predecessor in all aspects and is ready to become a real hit.
The appearance of the new product cannot be considered perfect, but it is stylish and memorable. Relatively small screen frames with a built-in fingerprint scanner, a metal frame with touch trigger keys, a proprietary design of the rear glass panel, and an original camera unit make the device stand out from its opponents. The 6.78-inch AMOLED display impresses with the smoothness of the picture (165 Hz refresh rate), as well as the responsiveness of the touch panel. FullHD+ resolution is enough for clear displayed content, and a peak brightness of more than 2000 nits will help you interact with the mobile assistant even in direct sunlight.
Of course, the phablet could not do without top-end technical characteristics. The most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 3 processor of the eighth series, which, together with 16/24GB of RAM and the Adreno 750 video core, scores more than two million points in the AnTuTu benchmark, can easily and effortlessly cope with maximum graphics settings in literally any game. Resource-intensive Honkai: Star Rail, Fortnite and similar projects will operate at 60 frames per second or more. The volume of permanent memory can be 512/1024GB of ROM in UFS 4.0 format. The CPU is also energy efficient, thanks to which the 5500 mAh battery consistently provides up to 8-9 hours of active screen time. The fast wired charging power of 65W is not a record, but you won’t have to stay at the outlet for long. There is also a wireless analogue and 15W.
The main photo modules are a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main sensor and a 32-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom with hybrid stabilization, and a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens. Cameras are designed for a variety of shooting scenarios; it is not difficult to take a detailed photo or video even in frankly poor lighting conditions. The stereo sound volume at its peak reaches 90dB+, and the speakers are not deprived of bass. The list of advantages of the device does not end there. NFC contactless payment, full protection from dust and moisture according to IP68 standards only increase the attractiveness of one of the best gaming devices on the market.
