Blackview BV4800 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Blackview BV4800 Pro Overview
Blackview BV4800 Pro - too simple to be popular?
The Chinese company Blackview is largely known for its IP68 dust and moisture-proof smartphones. Most of the models it produces have a good price-quality ratio, which is not always available to opponents. However, sometimes even experienced developers make mistakes. The hero of today's review was supposed to be an improved version of a not very successful device from the manufacturer, but the changes made are unlikely to turn the new product into a hit.
The appearance of the all-in-one has not undergone significant metamorphoses. Unfortunately, the fingerprint scanner never appeared, and many competitors have it. The rubberized case is bulky, the ergonomics are mediocre, the display frames are wide. Only the nice texture of the back panel and the modern dual camera unit try to save the situation. The 6.56-inch IPS screen is also not easy to shower with compliments. The HD+ resolution is standard for the price category, there is no increased refresh rate, the peak brightness of 500 nits is far from the record. But the color rendition is quite natural.
The technical characteristics include the UNISOC Tiger T606 CPU, 4GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC1 video adapter. The chipset is much better than the MediaTek Helio A22 used in its predecessor, but its rivals sometimes have more RAM. The Android 14 operating system works quite stably, but the gaming capabilities are limited. A decent framerate can only be obtained in undemanding 3D games like PUBG Mobile. The 5180mAh battery will allow you not to think about looking for an outlet or a power bank for a couple of days. The charging power is 10W, the phablet charges from 0% to 100% in about four hours. The internal storage size has reached 128 GB, there is a slot for MicroSD cards.
The main cameras are now 16- and 2-megapixel sensors, but you shouldn't expect anything supernatural from them. Even daytime photos do not always please with realistic color rendition and the absence of noise. The detail is average, sometimes there are blurs. It is recommended to forget about evening photo sessions. Among the positive aspects, we highlight the preservation of a separate headphone jack, the appearance of contactless NFC payments. However, a number of serious shortcomings, such as unremarkable design and not the most outstanding photo capabilities, do not allow us to definitely recommend the gadget for purchase.
