Blackview BV8900 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Blackview BV8900 Pro Overview
Blackview BV8900 Pro - technologically advanced, durable, long-lasting
It's hard not to see progress in creating rugged smartphones in the mid-price category. Developers are trying to do everything possible to ensure that devices with full protection from dust and moisture according to IP68 standards are in no way inferior to their “ordinary” counterparts at a similar price. And the hero of today’s review is as close as possible to this description.
The appearance of the new product actually repeats that of its predecessor, so impressions of the exterior will be ambiguous. A beautiful block of three photo modules, a fingerprint scanner located on the side, and a 16-megapixel selfie camera located at the top of the display are contrasted by the huge dimensions of the body and, as a result, poor ergonomics and wide frames of the 6.5-inch IPS panel. The screen itself turned out to be good, although not great. A resolution of 2400x1080 pixels is enough for clear playback content, the brightness reserve reaches 600 nits, so in direct sunlight the picture remains partially visible. But the increased image refresh rate was left for more expensive models.
The selection of technical characteristics corresponds to the cost segment. The MediaTek Helio P90 CPU is far from a new, but still relevant chipset, ready, together with 8GB of RAM, to cope with a significant number of tasks. Android 13 is free of lags, programs open quite quickly. Modern games will also be available to the user, however, the most resource-intensive projects (Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Undecember) will require changing the graphic settings to minimal presets. You can’t complain about the size of the permanent memory, because it reached 256GB of ROM with a slot for MicroSD cards. The 10380mAh battery will receive only compliments. It provides up to 4-5 days of active use of the mobile assistant and at the same time supports wired charging with a power of 33W.
The main 64-megapixel sensor from Samsung has received optical stabilization, so evening shots are noticeably more saturated and detailed than those of opponents. The auxiliary 8- and 2-megapixel photo modules are more difficult to praise; they are unlikely to be used often due to their modest quality. The phone cannot boast of stereo sound; there is also no headphone jack. But the device has NFC contactless payment and support for Ultra Wideband (wireless communication technology over short distances with low energy costs). Thus, the gadget is ahead of its competitors in terms of autonomy, photo capabilities and a number of other parameters and is worthy of attention.
