Blackview Oscal Pilot 2 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Blackview Oscal Pilot 2 Overview
Blackview Oscal Pilot 2 - a rugged smartphone for photographers?
The Chinese company Blackview has significantly expanded its range of IP68 waterproof phones over the past couple of years. Now the user has a choice of dozens of models of different directions and different price categories. The hero of today's review is suitable for people who require from their mobile assistant not only increased durability, but also good photographic capabilities.
The appearance of the new product is up-to-date, but it is not without its flaws inherent in the segment. They manifested themselves in the enormous thickness of the candy bar and the impressive width of the screen frames. It’s easier to come to terms with them if you pay attention to such aspects of the exterior as the combination in one design element of an additional IPS screen (necessary for displaying the time, notifications, displaying mini-applications, assistance in taking photographs) and cameras, a beautiful texture of the rear panel, a convenient side fingerprint scanner, brightly colored rubberized cases. The 6.5-inch IPS panel isn't amazing, but it doesn't deserve criticism either. The FullHD+ resolution gives the picture clarity, and the 120 Hz refresh rate gives it smoothness. The color rendition is realistic, but with brightness everything is not so rosy. 600 nits is still not always enough for normal image visibility.
The technical characteristics were the Mediatek Helio G99 CPU, which has already been used a million times, 8GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC2 video adapter. The combination is common, but remains relevant both for playing Android 14 OS and many games. Less demanding Call Of Duty and World Of Tanks Blitz operate at high graphic settings, but in Genshin Impact you will have to use low presets. 256GB of permanent memory is allocated, while the size of the internal storage can be easily increased with MicroSD cards. There is no saving on battery capacity either. 8800mAh is enough for about three days, there is fast charging with a power of 45W.
The main 50-megapixel sensor of the Samsung GN5 received optical stabilization, thanks to which evening pictures are much less likely to be buried in noise and upset by blur. This fact also has a positive effect on daytime photographs. The 13-megapixel wide-angle lens doesn't disappoint either. There is no stereo sound, but the device has one speaker of increased diameter, which provides a volume of 90 dB. NFC contactless payments complete the already considerable list of advantages of a balanced and interesting device.
