Blackview Oscal Pilot 3 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Blackview Oscal Pilot 3 Overview
Blackview Oscal Pilot 3 - release of smartphones on autopilot
The Chinese company Blackview is a true specialist in the development of rugged phones. Dozens of such devices from the corporation's conveyor belt became bestsellers, providing the necessary balance of price and quality. However, the market audience is more demanding every year, so a simple re-release of gadgets with an updated design and a couple of improvements in technical characteristics will no longer be able to bring impressive profits. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review fits the above description.
The appearance of the new product is not bad, but it has retained all the shortcomings of devices with moisture protection according to IP68 standards. These include huge screen frames and excessive dimensions of the case, leading to terrible ergonomics. However, the exterior is definitely not considered a failure thanks to the beautiful texture of the back panel and the original block of photo modules. The 6.78-inch IPS display deserves more compliments. The only thing you can criticize is the brightness of 700 nits, which is noticeably behind that of AMOLED panels. But in terms of content clarity (FullHD+ resolution), its smoothness (refresh rate of 120 Hz), and the naturalness of color rendition, everything is more than worthy.
The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor is one of the cheapest chipsets with 5G network support. Its performance is at the level of the previously released Helio G95/96, so thanks to 12 GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC2 video adapter, you can expect about 380-400 thousand points in the AnTuTu test. This result is enough for the responsiveness of the Android 15 interface, but the gaming capabilities are limited. If resource-intensive games are launched, then you need to set low graphic presets. Otherwise, the gamer has every chance of getting a slide show. The battery capacity is 7500 mAh. This is far from the record values for the IP68 segment, but you definitely won’t have to look for a power outlet for two days. But the charging power could have been higher at 33W.
Photographic capabilities do not allow the device to be classified as a camera phone. The auxiliary 20-megapixel night vision sensor is unlikely to be useful for 99% of buyers, and the main 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor without optical stabilization is not very suitable for shooting in poor lighting conditions. Color rendition is transferred to photos with errors, and there is a lot of noise. There is no stereo sound, but the only speaker is not mediocre. The volume is more than 90 dB, and you can hear the bass. NFC contactless payments are present, which is extremely useful when you go to the supermarket again. As a result, the phablet turned out to be quite balanced, but lacking individuality and serious competitive advantages, which is why it is unlikely to be a hit.
