Cubot A30 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot A30 Overview
Cubot A30 - beautiful, but irrelevant?
The desire of the Chinese company Cubot to diversify the range of smartphones in the low price segment can only be approved. In addition, the manufacturer tries to please its fans with truly original models even for a small amount of money. Thus, the hero of today's review has a number of extremely interesting competitive advantages, but due to their presence, other functionality suffered.
The appearance of the new product is really good for the price category. The used camera block, supplemented by a round 1.46-inch display (displaying the date, notifications, assistance in photographing and other functions), looks excellent, and the colors of the cases made of fairly high-quality polycarbonate are impressive. But at the same time, the developer saved on a fingerprint scanner, as well as a modern form factor of a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The frames of the main 6.75-inch IPS screen are also not considered narrow. The IPS panel itself has a 90 Hz refresh rate with realistic color rendering. The peak brightness of 600 nits is enough to work with the phablet at home, but not in direct sunlight. The HD+ resolution is not enough for excellent content clarity.
Compared to the previously released A20, the technical specifications have changed. Now, 6 GB of RAM work with the UNISOC Tiger T606 processor and Mali G57MC1 video accelerator, which has a positive effect on the performance of the Android 14 interface. Less demanding games like PUBG Mobile are characterized by fewer slowdowns, but you won’t be able to play something like Genshin Impact comfortably. The permanent memory is 128 GB, one of the SIM cards can be replaced with a MicroSD card. The battery capacity is 5100 mAh, which, thanks to the energy efficiency of the chipset, gives about 9-10 hours of active screen time. But fast charging is not provided.
The main 48 and 0.3-megapixel photo sensors are simple, suitable for capturing text and static objects in daylight. Even indoor photo sessions lead to a drop in detail and the appearance of noise, and in the evening the situation becomes critical. There is no stereo sound, but there is a jack for wired headphones, which will definitely please music lovers. What will definitely upset everyone is the lack of NFC contactless payments. Thus, a whole list of compromises is unlikely to turn the device into a future hit.
