Cubot King Kong 7 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot King Kong 7 Overview
Cubot King Kong 7 - what is hidden behind a loud name?
Building a successful rugged smartphone in the mid-range is a daunting task for a variety of reasons. Manufacturers are faced with the need to advertise a product, and with difficulties in containing the cost, and in designing the functionality and appearance of the phone. The hero of today's review from the Chinese company Kubot cannot be considered an unsuccessful model, however, a bunch of minor flaws seriously spoil the device, the name of which should strike terror into the hearts of opponents.
The appearance of the novelty is standard for a relatively inexpensive representative of devices with IP68 protection from moisture and dust. A thick case and rubberized elements negatively affect ergonomics, while the design also deteriorates due to the wide display bezels around the entire perimeter. A triple camera, today's popular side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 32-megapixel front-facing in-screen photosensor only marginally distract attention from exterior problems. The 6.36-inch IPS display features FullHD + resolution. This is a good OGS panel, capable of producing a bright and contrasting picture, but its budget is visible on a sunny day. And even in pitch darkness, I would like to make the brightness indicator a little lower.
The technical characteristics have not undergone a tangible upgrade in comparison with those of their predecessors. The Mediatek Helio P60 processor has been encountered more than once in mid-budget Android smartphones and has shown itself to be not the most productive solution. The chipset performs mediocrely in resource-intensive games, sometimes not providing even low graphics settings, but at the same time the CPU is good in day-to-day operations. Even the former owners of flagships, the Android 11 interface will seem smooth, devoid of noticeable lags. 8GB of RAM and a graphics video adapter Mali G52-MC2 also help to achieve this result. Modest internal storage could spoil the impression of the phablet , but 128GB of ROM and a separate slot for MicroSD cards can hardly be criticized.
Problems with a gadget begin in photographic capabilities. If the selfie camera does not disappoint, then only the 64-megapixel sensor stands out from the three main photo modules. Sometimes, even in daytime shots, noises are visible, even if the color rendition and the amount of details are more than satisfactory. Shooting in poor lighting conditions, in most cases, will result in blur, poor detail. On the positive side , we note a capacious 5000mAh battery, with which the autonomy of the mobile assistant steps over the 10-12 hour mark of active screen time. NFC contactless payments are another addition to the list of advantages of an Android smartphone. However, the device cannot really stand out against the background of numerous competitors, which will definitely affect its sales and popularity.
