Cubot King Kong Star Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot King Kong Star Overview
Cubot King Kong Star - in line with new trends
The Chinese company Cubot today is in the role of catching up, even if we compare it with its opponents in the face of Doogee, Blackview. A number of not the most successful models still affected the financial condition of the corporation, which now needs to be corrected. That is why the manufacturer has to adopt the best ideas of its competitors and offer them even at a more affordable price.
The appearance of the gadget turned out to be quite interesting, although the phone, protected from dust and moisture according to IP68 standards, can hardly be called really beautiful. Attractive "transparent" texture of the back panel, the original block of three cameras, in the middle of which there is an additional 1.09-inch IPS display, and a side fingerprint sensor look stylish. Unfortunately, these words can no longer be said about the outdated format of the 32-megapixel selfie camera, the huge body size. The 6.78-inch IPS screen is bright and contrasting for this type of matrix, there is a high FullHD + resolution and an increased image refresh rate (90 hertz). The use of an AMOLED panel would be a serious competitive advantage, but the cost would also be much higher.
The technical characteristics are the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor with support for 5G networks, 12GB of RAM, and the Mali G57MC2 video adapter. Don't let the huge amount of RAM fool you - this is far from a flagship bunch. It is designed for the smooth operation of Android 13 OS, launching applications without visible delays. With gaming capabilities, everything is more modest. Really resource-intensive games (Fortnite, Genshin Impact) will launch, but you should not expect stable gameplay even with medium graphics presets. But the power efficiency of the chipset is impressive, so it's easy to get up to 15-20 hours of active screen time from a 10600mAh battery. 256GB of internal storage will be enough for 99% of buyers, for the rest there is a microSD card slot.
Auxiliary 24- (night monochrome camera) and 5-megapixel (macro) photomodules should be considered only as a nice addition to the main 100-megapixel sensor, which will take most of the pictures. Even without optical stabilization, it copes with day and evening photos. Detailing frames is not bad, the amount of noise does not go beyond the critical mark. There is no stereo sound, but the only loud (more than 90 dB) speaker will give you a lot of positive emotions. There is NFC contactless payment, but wireless charging and a headphone jack are left for future gadgets. We also include individual untranslated menu items as shortcomings. However, these disadvantages are not able to spoil the impression of a balanced and high-quality device with a reasonable price tag.
