Cubot KingKong 11 Overview
Cubot KingKong 11 - unexpected simplifications
The vast majority of electronics enthusiasts have become accustomed to the fact that the increase in the smartphone index directly correlates with its technical and other characteristics. The market audience is becoming more and more demanding, so each subsequent model simply must be better than the previous one. But it seems that the Chinese company Cubot has a slightly different opinion.
The appearance of the new product seems neater due to the change in the shape of the additional 1.46-inch display (used to display time, notifications), as well as the use of a technological texture of the back panel. Both the photo modules and the side fingerprint scanner look good. Unfortunately, the entire list of problems associated with the presence of moisture protection according to IP68 standards, shock resistance and a large battery remained in place. Thus, the frames of the 6.72-inch screen are huge, and both the size of the monoblock and its weight have become excessive. The IPS panel used will not disappoint with the clarity of the picture at FullHD+ resolution, its smoothness due to the refresh rate of 120 Hz. But there will definitely be complaints about the faded color rendition, low brightness reserve of 500 nits. With direct rays, the visibility of the content evaporates.
The device has lost in performance. The MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor is about 20% weaker than the previously used 7050 chip. Yes, there is 16 GB of RAM, but do the specified CPU and IMG BXM-8-256 video core need them? The question is debatable, because if the Android 15 interface functions relatively stably, then resource-intensive games will slow down even with low-medium graphic presets. The battery has retained a capacity of 10200 mAh, so the autonomy is high. You can hope for 3-4 days of work with a mobile assistant. But the charging power is still 33W, so you will have to place the gadget near the outlet for many hours. The permanent memory is 256 GB, a slot for MicroSD cards is present.
Photo capabilities have not advanced. Yes, a 24-megapixel night vision sensor has appeared, but many users do not really need it, which cannot be said about the same telephoto lens. The main 108-megapixel module from Samsung does not have optical stabilization, evening photos are often spoiled by noise, blurring, errors in color rendering. The 8-megapixel wide-angle lens is very simple, it is useful only for daytime photo sessions of static scenes. Contactless NFC payments, support for 5G networks by the modem complement the list of advantages, but stagnation and even degradation in some aspects are unlikely to turn the device into a future hit.
