Cubot KingKong 5 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot KingKong 5 Overview
Cubot KingKong 5 - redundant simplifications
The Chinese company Kubot is trying with all its might to expand the range of products offered, but sometimes this desire leads to peculiar consequences. For example, the hero of today's review is a light version of an already controversial smartphone. Is the novelty capable of finding buyers when moving to the low-middle price category?
The appearance of the device is the least of all complaints. Let the IP68 waterproof rating affect the thickness of the case and display bezels, a beautiful triple photo module, a side fingerprint sensor and a non-uniform stylish rubberized texture of the back panel try to divert attention from these shortcomings. But the 6.08-inchIPS-matrix already deserves criticism. The resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels is not enough for the clarity of small fonts, and the margin of brightness is not enough for comfortable use of the gadget in direct sunlight.
But more frustrating than the rest of the technical characteristics. The MediatekHelioP22 processor is frankly outdated, so even its combination with 4GB ofRAM and a PowerVR GE8320 video adapter does not improve the situation. Even not the most demanding games are played with difficulty by the chipset, and the Android 11 interface suffers from low performance. But there are no problems with energy efficiency. A 5000mAh battery will give you about one and a half days of using the mobile assistant without power banks and sockets. The size of the internal storage of 32GB is modest by today's standards, so the use of microSD cards is recommended.
The photographic capabilities of the 48, 5 and 2 megapixel cameras are surprisingly decent. In normal daylight, the user will be able to hope for quite pleasing to the eye pictures and an abundance of the smallest details and realistic color reproduction. Of course, the deterioration of lighting will bring with it both noise and numerous smears. Other positive aspects of an Android smartphone will be NFC contactless payment and gyroscope. However, the low-performance CPU and mediocre IPS-display do not allow us to recommend the considered device for purchase.
