Cubot KingKong X Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot KingKong X Overview
Cubot KingKong X - improvement of the bestseller
The representative of the KingKong series of the Cubot company with the number 9 in the name won the hearts of millions of satisfied customers with both its durability and functionality, battery life and design, which is not the worst for the segment. However, nothing lasts forever, the time has come to release an updated model, capable of offering a number of significant improvements at a similar cost. And it seems that the experienced manufacturer managed to create a more interesting and relevant new product.
The appearance of the device has changed. The rear rubberized panel retains the additional screen combined into a single design element (necessary for displaying notifications, shooting assistance, supports mini-applications) and a block of three photo modules, the side edging will still feature a fingerprint scanner, the thickness of the body and display frames has decreased slightly. The 6.58-inch IPS panel does not surprise with its brightness reserve; 600 nits will not always be enough in direct sunlight, but the picture tries to please with smoothness at a refresh rate of 120 hertz and clarity at FullHD+ resolution. There are no serious problems with color rendering.
The technical characteristics were the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, 16GB of RAM and the Mali G68MC4 graphics adapter. In addition to supporting 5G networks, the bundle offers performance in the region of 500 thousand points, more stable gameplay in demanding games like Genshin Impact. True, you still need to rely exclusively on low-medium graphics settings, and the provided amount of RAM looks excessive. The 10200 mAh battery provides impressive autonomy, with which you will have to remember the location of the nearest outlets once every 3-4 days. But fast charging at 33W is not amazing; I would like to see its equivalent at 67W. There is a choice of 256 or 512GB of internal storage, which can be easily expanded with MicroSD cards.
100- (main sensor from OmniVision), 5-megapixel (macro camera and portrait lens) cameras, although lacking optical stabilization, perform well even in the evening. Of course, it is difficult not to notice the decrease in detail and the appearance of noise, but in many cases the number of artifacts is not critical. There is no stereo sound, but the single speaker does not disappoint with maximum volume. The presence of NFC contactless payments, moisture protection according to IP68 standards and an affordable price increase the likelihood of success of the device.
