Cubot P50 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot P50 Overview
Cubot P50 - the beginning of the crisis?
Over the past few years, the Chinese company Kubot could not boast of releasing truly successful smartphones. The abundance of competitors with impressive budgetary funds, a weak advertising campaign and technical characteristics of products that are common for price categories did not contribute to the corporation's profit. And it looks like things are only getting worse.
The appearance of the novelty, at least, is peculiar. Of the positive aspects, it is possible to single out relatively small screen frames and successful colors of the cases, but there are significantly more minuses. This is an outdated form factor of a 20-megapixel selfie camera, and the lack of a fingerprint sensor, and an inexpensive brand of plastic on the back panel and edging. It also scratches quickly. The 6.21-inch IPS screen is not impressive either. It's a fairly cheap HD+ display that doesn't have good brightness or contrast ratios. An increased refresh rate would help rehabilitate the IPS panel, but the developer decided to save on it too.
The Mediatek Helio P22 processor and the PowerVR GE8320 video accelerator are not the best solution even for playing Android 11 and not very resource-intensive applications. No need to look at 6GB of RAM , this amount of RAM is redundant for the chipset. As for games, the user will be able to comfortably immerse themselves in only two-dimensional projects, or ten-year-old Android games like Subway Surfers. At the same time, the internal storage is allocated as much as 128GB , coupled with a slot for MicroSD cards. Probably, this size of the ROM will have to be filled exclusively with music, photos and video files.
The main 12- and 2-megapixel photomodules are expectedly simple. They cope with daytime shooting of static objects, and the text they shot comes out legible. But if the buyer tries to carry out evening photo shoots, then a huge disappointment awaits him. It will not be easy to make out the details of what is happening among the noise and blurring. There are no stereo speakers, but the headphone jack remains. Another significant plus of the device is full NFC contactless payments. I want to finish the analysis of the gadget on autonomy. The energy-efficient IPS display and CPU, even from a 4200mAh battery, provide about a dozen hours of active screen time. Unfortunately, all of the above is not able to justify the backward performance of the device and its problems with the exterior and the quality of the output image.
