Cubot P60 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot P60 Overview
Cubot P60 - low competitiveness
The Chinese company Cubot once had every chance to get out of the group of little-known smartphone manufacturers and enter, if not in the list of A-brands, then at least in the list of successful corporations. However, the abundance of controversial products, a mediocre marketing campaign and many mistakes led to sad consequences. So, the developer's budget has become even more modest, which is why new items emerging from under his conveyor evoke mixed emotions.
The appearance of the gadget is unlikely to receive only compliments. If the dual camera unit turned out to be stylish, and the colors of the cases are relevant, then the wide display frames, the outdated design of the front 8-megapixel photo module, the lack of a fingerprint sensor and the cheap plastic back panel look bad even for an Android smartphone of a low-budget price category. The 6.51-inch IPS display has an HD+ resolution and average picture clarity, but competitors rarely have the best parameters. The brightness is enough to work with a mobile assistant indoors, direct sunlight significantly reduces the visibility of the output content, you have to look for a shadow.
The choice of technical characteristics is rather strange. Not the most productive MediaTek Helio P35 processor is combined with 6GB of RAM, which, however, does not help it cope with resource-intensive games, and Android 12 jams are sometimes noticeable. Saving on the amount of RAM and installing the latest UNISOC chips could seriously improve the situation. But 128GB of internal storage is allocated, and the microSD card slot is not forgotten. Of course, the gadget was not without competitive advantages. So, autonomy organized by a 5000mAh battery reaches 10 hours of active screen time, so you need to charge the battery only once every one and a half to two days.
The main 20- and 0.3-megapixel cameras have an autofocus system and LED flash, but their use cases are limited. So, the sensors are ready to take a detailed picture of the text of documents or static objects in good daylight, but in other cases the frame is sharply filled with noise, blur and other artifacts. For music lovers, a separate headphone jack is left, but the sound of the only speaker is quiet, the bass is actually not heard. There are also no NFC contactless payments, a gyroscope and other things important for users. Add all of the above with a price tag that is not very democratic for the segment to get a frankly passable phablet, which has dozens of more interesting alternatives.
