Cubot P90 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot P90 Overview
Cubot P90 - incorrectly placed accents
The Chinese company Cubot has not been very often pleasing its fans with commercially successful smartphones lately. However, the limited budget and fierce competition make themselves felt. The hero of today's review can be considered an attempt by the corporation to impose an equal fight on opponents in the mid-price category, but a number of competitive advantages are unlikely to be highly appreciated by the audience, and in some aspects the new product is simply mediocre.
The appearance of the device is very controversial. The front panel disappoints with both wide screen frames and an outdated form factor of the 16-megapixel front photo module. The case itself is made of good, but easily soiled polycarbonate, the camera block looks a little strange, although original. It is difficult not to find an additional 1.72-inch IPS display near it for displaying time, notifications and other information. But is it needed in real life? Far from always. But they saved a lot on the main 6.88-inch IPS panel. The resolution for the diagonal is very modest (1640x720), pixels are sometimes visible to the naked eye. The peak brightness of 500 nits is also not amazing, because it is almost impossible to see the picture in direct sunlight. Thank goodness that at least the 120-Hz refresh rate and realistic color rendition were left.
There are fewer questions about the technical characteristics. Of course, the bundle of the Mediatek Helio G100 CPU, 12 GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC2 video accelerator is not the best in the value segment, but the Android 15 interface is responsive, without an abundance of lags. Many modern games run, even the resource-intensive Genshin Impact will be among them, although for comfortable gameplay you will have to use low graphic presets. The battery capacity is close to the standard, namely 5100 mAh. The battery provides its one and a half to two days of active use of the device. The permanent memory is 256 GB, while there is a slot for MicroSD cards.
Photo capabilities are far from ideal. This is especially true for the auxiliary sensors, represented by a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 0.3-megapixel depth sensor. There are not so many complaints about the 64-megapixel main camera, especially if you take photos during the day. Evening photos are less detailed, noise and blur appear. There is no stereo sound, and there is no jack for wired headphones. As for other advantages, their list will be replenished with NFC contactless payments. However, this does not make the gadget more attractive, it has too many ambiguous parameters.
