Cubot Pocket Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot Pocket Overview
Cubot Pocket - when compactness won't save the day
A potentially successful smartphone simply must have a number of competitive advantages that can distinguish it from monotonous opponents. However, sometimes manufacturers focus too much on one distinctive feature, forgetting about other aspects of the product. Such a situation has developed with the hero of today's review.
The design of the phone is an abundance of successful and frankly failed solutions. If the texture of the back panel, the patterns on it and the colors themselves turned out to be interesting and quite memorable, then the thick display frames, the absence of a fingerprint sensor and the boring design of a single photo module greatly spoil the exterior. The use of a 4-inch IPS screen made it possible to reduce the dimensions of the monoblock, however, surfing the web, watching videos and other operations with such an IPS panel are not always convenient. The brightness level is very average, but the image detail even at a resolution of 1080x540 pixels is not bad.
The fact that the device belongs to the low price category explains the use of the UNISOC Tiger T310 processor. With 4GB of RAM and a Mali G71MC2 graphics adapter, the chipset handles Android 11 interface, but the CPU is mediocre with games due to heating and throttling in a small case. More or less playable will be only three-dimensional projects like World Of Tanks Blitz. The energy efficiency of the previously mentioned bundle is not great, but the tiny battery by today's standards will have to be charged once a day, or even more often. 64GB of ROM are expanded with MicroSD cards, so there are actually no problems with internal storage.
That the main 16-megapixel photo sensor, that the 5-megapixel front camera is unlikely to please even an inexperienced photographer with the quality of photos and videos. Noise, smearing, unnatural color reproduction and similar flaws make the modules suitable exclusively for capturing text. There is no stereo sound in the gadget, but NFC contactless payments are provided. But as a result, the device is unlikely to find its audience because of the many disadvantages and controversial advantages.
