Cubot Tab 40 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Cubot TAB 40 Overview
Cubot TAB 40 - late to market
The Chinese company Cubot is not one of the leaders in the mobile electronics industry, but is trying to do everything possible to comply with all the new trends. Unfortunately, a limited budget does not always allow you to achieve the desired result. So, the hero of today’s review has too many opponents, differing in similar parameters, and sometimes even at a lower price.
I don’t want to criticize the appearance of the new product at all. The inexpensive tablet boasts a metal body, modern camera design, and good ergonomics. The display frames are quite large, but this fact is difficult to consider as a disadvantage for the price segment. The 10.4-inch IPS screen is quite good. Even though the brightness level is insufficient for direct sunlight, the IPS panel tries to make up for this shortcoming with realistic color reproduction and excellent picture detail at a resolution of 2000x1200 pixels.
The technical specifications are standard for the price category; praising the UNISOC Tiger T616 processor, 8GB of RAM and the Mali G57-MC1 video adapter for performance is hardly correct. If the bundle copes even more or less well with the Android 13 interface, the gaming capabilities are not as wide as we would like. The most demanding projects today (Fortnite, Genshin Impact and others) are unlikely to be played comfortably. And even minimal graphic presets help little in this situation. The energy efficiency of the CPU is not disappointing, thanks to which the 7500 mAh battery consistently demonstrates the gadget’s operation for about a day and a half. It’s a pity that the battery was provided with only 18W charging.
The photographic capabilities of the main 13-megapixel camera are similar to those of low-budget smartphones. It is possible to take a high-quality daytime photo, although not always on the first take; the photo module is rather intended for capturing documents. There is stereo sound, its volume reaches 85db, but the bass is lacking. There is support for two SIM cards, so the user will not be left without 4G Internet and calls. One of the slots is hybrid, so 128GB of ROM is expandable with MicroSD cards. Thus, the gadget turned out to be balanced, but rather boring, with no visible competitive advantages.
