Doogee N55 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
DOOGEE N55 Overview
DOOGEE N55 - mediocre, but inexpensive
Smartphones in the low-cost segment from the Chinese company DOOGEE often delight with excellent price-quality ratio, which the manufacturer has been striving for for many years. However, sometimes even experienced developers make mistakes. And it seems that the hero of today's review is close to such a description.
The appearance of the new product is not bad, although it cannot be considered the best in the price category. So, there is no fingerprint scanner, the plastic is not of particularly high quality, it is easily soiled. But the situation is saved by a stylish block of photomodules and small display frames. The 6.56-inch IPS panel will not surprise you with image clarity at HD+ resolution, but it will please you with its smoothness at a 90-Hz picture refresh rate and realistic color reproduction. The brightness reserve of 500 nits is not considered great, but even in direct sunlight it is still possible to see something on the screen, although it is not easy.
The technical characteristics were the popular eight-core UNISOC Tiger T606 processor, 4GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC1 video adapter. The combination is significantly more productive compared to older chipsets from MediaTek, so the user can count not only on the fast operation of the Android 14 interface, but also on the instant launch of most applications. You can also think about games, albeit not the most demanding ones. PUBG Mobile and Call Of Duty are quite playable with low-medium graphics presets. The battery capacity has reached 5150 mAh, it guarantees good battery life of 8-9 hours of screen time. But the charging power is frankly disappointing (10W).
The photo capabilities of the main cameras are disappointing. 13- and 0.3-megapixel modules do not always cope even with daytime shooting; detail, white balance and color rendition vary depending on the mood of the sensors. It’s better to forget about evening photos. There are no stereo speakers, the sound is not loud, and there is virtually no bass. But what really causes negative emotions is the lack of NFC contactless payments. Those who like to pay by phone in supermarkets will have to look for an alternative to a gadget. Thus, the device turned out to be extremely ambiguous, with a fairly large list of critical disadvantages.
