Doogee S Cyber Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
DOOGEE S Cyber Pro Overview
DOOGEE S Cyber Pro - durable, but so unbalanced
The mid-price segment of smartphones with moisture protection from the Chinese company Doogee has begun to stagnate. So, over the past couple of months, we have already seen several models of phones that are actually re-releases of the corporation's bestsellers. So, the hero of today's review largely duplicates the popular S118, slightly improving it in some aspects. It's a pity that changes for the better did not occur where the sophisticated audience would like to find them.
The appearance of the new product leaves a positive impression, although the developer did not rid the exterior of the problems of relatively inexpensive devices with protection from dust and moisture according to IP68 standards. Unfortunately, the enormous weight of the monoblock, the impressive thickness of the screen frames and mediocre ergonomics are still in place, although they are trying to disguise them behind the beautiful texture of the back panel, a convenient side fingerprint scanner, an attractive block of photo modules. It's a pity that the current form factor of the 32-megapixel selfie camera, by the way, is quite high-quality, has not joined the list. The IPS display used does not cause delight, because I would like to see its AMOLED counterpart with a good supply of brightness. The color rendition is faded, but with the clarity of the image at FullHD+ resolution, everything is fine, and the smoothness at a 120-Hz refresh rate is remarkable.
Technical specifications in the form of a MediaTek Helio G100 processor, 12 GB of RAM and a Mali G57MC2 video adapter are already starting to make you sad. There is no support for 5G networks, and the chipset's performance for games is not so impressive today. With 370-380 thousand points in the AnTuTu test, you can hope for stable gameplay in Genshin Impact or Fortnite only with low graphics settings. The Android 14 interface is responsive, serious lags are rare. Autonomy is one of the obvious advantages of the device, because the battery capacity is increased to 10800 mAh. Usually, the buyer needs to remember about the existence of sockets once every three or even four days. But charging with a power of 33 W is difficult to consider fast, the coveted 100% charge can only be observed after 4-5 hours. The size of the internal memory has reached the flagship 512 GB, so MicroSD cards will be useful only to a few.
Photo capabilities have not advanced much. The main 50-megapixel sensor from Omnivision without optical stabilization and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens will cope with daytime shooting, but any deterioration in lighting is reflected in the resulting photos. Detailing drops, noise, blur, etc. appear. The 20-megapixel monochrome night vision module is unlikely to be used often. There is no stereo sound, no jack for wired headphones either. If you try to recall other advantages of the gadget, their ranks will be replenished with contactless payments NFC, gyroscope. However, the increased price tag, the lack of significant metamorphoses in those areas where they are so necessary, will not make the device a future hit.
