DOOGEE S200 - the right successor to the bestseller?

The S100 smartphone from the Chinese company Doogee became a real hit and made hundreds of thousands of fans of mobile electronics happy. An extremely durable, functional and long-lasting phone for its price category simply could not go unnoticed. However, its first continuation in the face of the S110 turned out to be more controversial, because a year later, fans of the brand expected to find many visible improvements. The hero of today's review corrects the mistake made by the manufacturer.

The appearance of the new product is not bad for a device protected from dust and moisture according to IP68 standards, but the exterior also has obvious drawbacks. So, it is difficult not to notice the enormous thickness of the rubberized case, wide screen frames, due to which ergonomics tend to zero. But these are the problems of all devices in this segment, and positive emotions can be experienced both from the combination of a block of three photo modules and an additional AMOLED display (time display, notifications, compass, photo assistance, various mini-applications) in one design element, and from the interesting texture of the back panel, a side fingerprint scanner. The 6.72-inch main IPS screen is inferior to AMOLED analogs in terms of brightness. 650 nits is not the indicator that will always be enough to work with a compact assistant on a sunny day. But the optimal FullHD+ resolution for the diagonal, the smoothness of the content at an image refresh rate of 120 Hz, and calibrated color rendition allow you to pay less attention to this drawback.

The technical characteristics include the current MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor with support for 5G networks, 12 GB of RAM and a Mali G68-MC4 video chip. The bundle has received a noticeable performance boost compared to the previously used chipset, so now the user will get not only a responsive Android 14 interface, but also the functionality of all existing games. Even Genshin Impact and Fortnite will be playable, although the graphics settings will need to be significantly reduced at times. 256/512 GB of permanent memory are allocated, which, together with MicroSD cards, will be enough for most buyers. As for autonomy, a giant 10100 mAh battery is responsible for it. You will have to look for the nearest sockets once every 3-4 days, and stay near them for about three hours (fast charging with a power of 33 W).

The main cameras are represented by a 100-megapixel sensor from Samsung, a 20-megapixel monochrome night vision camera and a 2-megapixel macro module. There is no optical stabilization, so evening photo capabilities are somewhat limited. The detailing is not disappointing, but the noise is visible to the naked eye. The situation with daytime shots is much better. Stereo sound is present, its volume is above average. Contactless payments NFC are also available. Thus, we are waiting for a balanced and competitive model, which will not do without impressive sales.
