Doogee V40 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
DOOGEE V40 Overview
DOOGEE V40 - affordable, durable and productive
Fans of smartphones protected from dust and moisture are becoming more and more sophisticated every year. Manufacturers have to do everything possible to pleasantly surprise the audience. However, if in devices of the highest price category, developers do not need to save much, then providing excellent functionality of inexpensive phones turns into a difficult task. But the Chinese company Doogee has gracefully coped with it.
The appearance of the new product is good for the segment. Of course, the presence of increased strength and moisture protection according to IP68 standards is easy to notice by the width of the display frames and the overall dimensions of the monoblock, but a beautiful block of cameras, an original and memorable texture of the case, a side fingerprint scanner and a 16-megapixel selfie camera located at the top of the screen make the exterior look relevant and attractive. The 6.78-inch IPS display is unlikely to be praised for its fantastic brightness, but 700 nits leave partial visibility of the image in direct sunlight. The clarity of the content is impeccable thanks to the FullHD+ resolution, and the smoothness of the image with a refresh rate of 120 Hz is also not disappointing. Only the color rendition may seem a bit dull to people accustomed to AMOLED panels.
The technical specifications include the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 CPU with 5G network support, 12 GB of RAM and the Mali G615MC2 graphics core. The bundle is new and not often encountered, but the performance of 650,000 points in the AnTuTu test with outstanding energy efficiency evokes exclusively positive emotions. The Android 14 OS interface is endowed with the necessary responsiveness, resource-intensive gaming projects like Genshin Impact work stably even at medium-high graphics settings. A huge 8680 mAh battery makes the device truly long-lasting. You will have to look for sockets once every three days, there is also a fast, albeit not record-breaking 33W charger. The size of the permanent memory is 512 GB, but there is also a separate slot for MicroSD cards.
The main 108-megapixel sensor from Samsung without optical stabilization, a 20-megapixel monochrome night vision sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 0.08-megapixel portrait module are responsible for photographic capabilities. The combination of cameras is simpler than that of the Pro version, but it still copes with most shooting scenarios of the phablet. Only evening shots are sometimes badly spoiled by numerous noises. There is no stereo sound, and there is no room for a jack for wired headphones. Music lovers are unlikely to be happy with this state of affairs. But there are contactless payments NFC for simplifying purchases in hypermarkets. Thus, before us is a technological, albeit imperfect gadget, superior to many opponents with a similar price.
