Doogee Note 56 Overview
Doogee Note 56 - When Age Can't Be Disguised
Sometimes, major smartphone manufacturers can't use all the purchased components in one or more models. Recycling leftovers is an option, but far from the most effective. They could easily be used for a new phone. However, if you "gift" a new phone with too many outdated components, it's unlikely you'll be able to hide the awl in a sack from a sophisticated and experienced market audience. And it looks like today's review subject won't be popular.
The device's appearance isn't terrible, thanks to the austere yet stylish color scheme of the rear panels and the attractive photo module assembly. However, it's hard to ignore the wide screen bezels, the outdated form factor of the 5-megapixel selfie camera, and the lack of a fingerprint scanner. As for the 6.56-inch IPS display, the only praise it deserves is its smooth picture quality with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The 1612x720 resolution isn't sharp enough for the screen size, the peak brightness of 400 nits makes it difficult to use the device in direct sunlight, and the color rendering is rather dull.
The technical specifications will only evoke negative emotions. The UNISOC SC9863A processor, 3GB of RAM, and the PowerVR GE8322 GPU are a combination that isn't even up to the task of rendering the Android 16 interface. Users will be frustrated by slow app launch times and frequent crashes to the desktop due to insufficient RAM. Forget about playing modern 3D games. Battery life, however, is unquestionable, thanks to the latest 6150mAh silicon-carbon battery. It provides about two days of active use for the mobile assistant. However, the 10W charging power suggests the device will last a long time near a power outlet. The internal storage is limited to 64GB, so using a microSD card is highly recommended.
The main 8-megapixel sensor is designed for video calls and document capture in daylight. Trying to take high-quality artistic photos with it is not recommended. Of course, the sound from the single speaker doesn't deliver a wow factor either. It's quiet, lacking bass and volume. For some reason, NFC contactless payments are also missing. Therefore, this device hardly deserves attention.
