Doogee Note 59 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Doogee Note 59 5G Overview
Doogee Note 59 5G - not going in the right direction
Smartphones of the Note line from the Chinese company Doogee rarely became popular. Models aimed at the low price segment were usually subjected to too much simplification to maintain cost, which is why their functionality was sometimes very limited even against the background of opponents. However, the hero of today's review is already able to please the buyer with a number of competitive advantages. On the other hand, some of its technical characteristics are rather puzzling.
The appearance of the new product leaves a double impression. The design of the back panel is actually copied from inexpensive Vivo phones, which is a plus. A neat round block of photo modules, eye-pleasing colors of the cases, however, do not particularly harmoniously combine with the wide lower frame of the screen, the absence of a fingerprint scanner, the outdated form factor of the 8-megapixel selfie camera. The display is also ambiguous. The 6.75-inch IPS panel has an impressive refresh rate of 120 Hz, natural color rendition, but the resolution of 1600x720 pixels is clearly not enough for image clarity, and the peak brightness of 500 nits is already very modest by today's standards.
The UNISOC Tiger T765 (T8200) processor works in tandem with 8 GB of RAM and a Mali G57MC2 video accelerator. This is perhaps the first successful solution of the developer, judging by the written text. Performance approaches 400 thousand points in the AnTuTu test, the Android 15 interface does not disappoint with slowdowns. It is also possible to try out modern games. But if Call Of Duty or PUBG, which do not require an abundance of resources, function stably at high graphics settings, then it is recommended to launch Genshin Impact on graphics presets close to the minimum. 128 GB of permanent memory is allocated, but it can always be increased with MicroSD cards. The 6250 mAh battery organizes about 10 hours of screen time, but the power of the charger is small (10 W).
In terms of photo capabilities, the device failed. 16 and 0.3-megapixel photo modules do not always cope even with shooting in literally ideal lighting conditions. There are errors in color rendering, there is noise, blurring, a drop in detail. There is no stereo sound, and one speaker does not impress with its volume or bass character of the sound. But at least there is NFC, which will please fans of contactless payments. Thus, the gadget is definitely better than its predecessors, but is still far from the title of a potential hit.
