Doogee S200E Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Doogee S200E Overview
Doogee S200E - Inventory Optimization
Smartphones with the S200 index have been produced by the Chinese company Doogee for quite some time. These affordable phones, offering a good balance of price and quality, have won the hearts of millions of fans of rugged, all-in-one devices with IP68 water resistance. However, the manufacturer has reached a point where components are left in stock, and older models without significant changes are of little interest to a more sophisticated audience. The subject of today's review is a potential solution.
The appearance of the new device isn't perfect, but overall it's not bad considering its intended purpose. The attractive color scheme of the rear panels complements the matte texture and stylish faux-metallic elements. The additional round 1.32-inch AMOLED screen (for shooting assistance, notifications, and mini-app launchers) amidst the camera module also looks modern. However, the large dimensions and wide display bezels are unlikely to appeal to everyone. The main 6.72-inch IPS display has one serious drawback: peak brightness. At 600 nits, the display won't be visible in direct sunlight for comfortable viewing. However, the 2400x1080 resolution is sufficient to ensure small icons and fonts aren't washed out, while the 120 Hz refresh rate and natural color reproduction are further advantages.
The specifications are balanced, albeit typical for the price segment. The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and Mali G68-MC4 GPU score around 550,000-600,000 nits in AnTuTu and ensure smooth, lag-free operation of Android 16. This combination isn't particularly suitable for gamers, as resource-intensive games require low graphics settings to maintain a more or less stable framerate. The 10100 mAh battery is a solid guarantee that this mobile companion will last 3-4 days without needing to find an outlet or a power bank. Fast charging isn't impressive, with a capacity of only 33W. The storage is limited to 256 GB, but there's a microSD card slot.
Photography is limited. The auxiliary modules are mediocre. There's no wide-angle or telephoto lens, but there's a quirky 20-megapixel monochrome night vision sensor and a nearly useless 2-megapixel macro module. The main 100-megapixel camera, without optical image stabilization, performs decently during the day. Detail is decent, and there's no excessive noise or blur. But the appearance of dynamic objects or poor lighting significantly degrades the resulting photo material. Contactless NFC payment and 5G network support are available. Ultimately, we have a familiar device, but with a slightly updated packaging and even a reduced price. What more could you want?
