Doogee S300 Plus Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Doogee S300 Plus Overview
Doogee S300 Plus - New Competitive Advantages
The Chinese company Doogee has significantly expanded its S-series of smartphones with IP68 water resistance. Each phone offers its own advantages, aimed at different target audiences. And today's review subject will definitely appeal to those with an active lifestyle who want to store a wealth of photos, videos, and apps on their mobile assistant's internal storage.
The appearance of the new model is essentially identical to that of the Pro version. As usual, the thickness of the rubberized candy bar and the width of the display bezels are to be criticized. However, there is plenty to praise. The modern secondary matrix screen, stylish camera module, rugged metal elements, side fingerprint scanner, and eye-pleasing color options all look impressive. The 6.78-inch IPS panel offers good image clarity at a resolution of 2460x1080 pixels, maintains a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother content, and offers relatively realistic color rendition. However, don't expect the image to be visible in direct sunlight, as peak brightness barely reaches 700 nits.
The specifications include a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, 12GB of RAM, and a Mali G615MC6 GPU. The RAM is slightly smaller, but this doesn't impact performance. It also scores a respectable 1.5 million points in AnTuTu, runs Android 16 extremely responsively and reliably, and can play all existing games at high, and sometimes even maximum, graphics settings. The chipset also boasts energy efficiency, with the 11,000mAh battery delivering up to 15-20 hours of screen-on time. Fast wired charging is boosted to 120W, a figure even many flagships can't match. The same applies to the impressive 1024GB of internal storage. There's also a microSD card slot.
Photography capabilities are significantly above average for this class of device. The Samsung ISOCELL HP2's 200-megapixel main camera lacks optical image stabilization, but it still handles even evening shots well, as well as capturing dynamic scenes. There's some noise and blur, but not to a critical degree. There's even a telephoto lens, albeit an 8-megapixel one. A full 3x zoom would definitely come in handy, though. Other auxiliary sensors include an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 20MP monochrome night vision sensor. Stereo sound is missing, but a single large speaker is loud. NFC contactless payment, 5G support, and an IR port are the final reasons to consider this well-balanced, technologically advanced, and durable device.
