Doogee S41 Max Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Doogee S41 Max Overview
Doogee S41 Max - emphasis on quantitative rather than qualitative changes
The Chinese company Doogee decided to significantly expand the S41 series of smartphones, essentially making an entire line out of one outdated model with modified technical characteristics. The hero of today's review is its most expensive representative, but it is unlikely to be called the most balanced in terms of price and quality ratio.
The appearance of the new product is rather its disadvantage. It's hard to be inspired by the lack of a fingerprint scanner, the enormous thickness of the case and the huge display frames. Perhaps, only the colors of the rear rubberized panels and the block of three photomodules can evoke positive emotions. The 5.45-inch IPS screen is quite mediocre in all respects. The HD+ resolution is only barely enough for picture clarity, there is no increased image refresh rate, and the brightness reserve is frankly small for working with the device in direct sunlight.
In terms of performance, the gadget is all right. The UNISOC Tiger T606 processor, increased RAM to 6GB and the Mali G57MC1 video adapter prevent the Android 13 interface from drowning in an abundance of stutters, and most applications are responsive and quick to launch. The situation with games is not so rosy. The diagonal of the IPS panel is small, and the chipset is not powerful enough for truly resource-intensive projects like Genshin Impact. You'll have to set minimal graphic presets and get used to the friezes you encounter. The ROM size has been increased to an impressive 256GB, so not everyone will need a slot for MicroSD cards.
The main 13- and 0.3-megapixel photo sensors are clearly not a tool for a photographer. While they can capture text tolerably well, even daytime shots sometimes cause problems. Some frames will be overexposed, while in others the moving object will come out blurry. The only speaker is also far from perfect. There is little volume, as well as bass. But the developer remembered about NFC contactless payments, so at least paying for goods in the store will be hassle-free. Let's finish the analysis of the unit on a good note. The autonomy provided by the 6300 mAh battery reaches 10-12 hours of active screen time. It’s a pity that the charging power was a modest 10W. Thus, the device is outdated in many respects, which makes it difficult to recommend it for purchase.
