Doogee V Max 2 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Doogee V Max 2 Overview
The Doogee V Max 2 is a true continuation of a successful product.
While the Chinese company Doogee isn't known for its consistent release of commercially successful smartphones, it still manages to analyze the market, customer demand, and develop its phone lineups. Thus, the hero of today's review retains all the competitive advantages of its predecessor and adds new features that will definitely be appreciated by fans of modern gadgets with IP68 water resistance.
The appearance of the new device is difficult to find a clear opinion. It's unlikely that anyone will dislike the additional display (notifications, mini-apps, and other features) on the back panel with its unique texture, the side fingerprint scanner, and the attractive camera module. However, the candybar's dimensions are enormous, and ergonomics are near zero. Not every user will be able to use this half-kilogram device. The main 6.78-inch IPS screen doesn't impress with its maximum brightness. At 650 nits, you can't expect exceptional visibility in direct sunlight. However, the picture is crisp (Full HD+ resolution), smooth (120 Hz refresh rate), and natural. There's also an oleophobic coating, though far from perfect.
The technical specifications, however, are nothing short of impressive. The MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, paired with 12 GB of RAM and a Mali G615-MC6 GPU, has already proven itself to be an affordable yet highly effective solution in terms of performance and energy efficiency. A score of over 1,300,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark testifies to the stable operation of the Android 16 interface and the smooth running of even resource-intensive hits like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero at high graphics settings. A massive 22,000 mAh battery ensures battery life. Needless to say, it's easy to get 5-7 days of mobile assistant use. Wireless charging has been ditched, but the wired charging option has been boosted to a flagship 120W. 512GB of storage is available, along with a microSD card slot.
The camera's photography capabilities are decent, though not exceptional. Both the modest 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and the 64-megapixel monochrome night vision sensor, which replaces the much-desired telephoto lens, are disappointing. However, Samsung's main 200-megapixel sensor, even without optical image stabilization, can produce well-detailed photos without excessive blur or noise. Moreover, scenes can be anything but static. There's no stereo sound, but the large speaker doesn't disappoint in terms of volume or volume. NFC contactless payments and 5G connectivity are also included. So, what we have here is a very long-lasting and productive, yet frankly inconvenient device, aimed squarely at fans of brutal, heavy-duty devices.
