Doogee V20 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Doogee V20 Overview
Doogee V20 - Approaching Flagship Heights
The Chinese company Dodge is one of those market players who with almost 100% probability will never come close to leading positions. Small finances, many controversial products, minimal marketing campaign - all of the above negatively affects the corporate image in the eyes of the audience. However, the previously named manufacturer is still trying to improve, as evidenced by smartphones like the hero of today's review. And although he is far from the real flagships, the impressions of the new product are not the worst.
The appearance of the phone immediately reveals the presence of moisture protection according to IP68 standards and impressive durability. This fact is noticeable in the thickness of the gadget and the width of the frames. But it cannot be said that the exterior designers were completely unsuccessful. An interesting body texture, an unusual block of three cameras with a 1.05-inch additional AMOLED display located next to it for displaying notifications, metal elements, a successful interspersing of rubberized inserts and a 16-megapixel selfie camera installed at the top of the display make the phablet look relevant, albeit somewhat cumbersome. The 6.43-inch AMOLED screen is good, but it won't be a revelation to anyone. FullHD + resolution, standard for the price category, is combined with decent contrast and brightness indicators, visibility in direct sunlight is enough. But the developer forgot about the newfangled increased image refresh rate.
Specifications have not been modified since the previous V10 model. The Mediatek Dimesnity 700 CPU, 8GB of RAM and the Mali G52MC2 video adapter saved the results of an Android smartphone in benchmarks (360,000 points in the Antutu test), striking with graphical beauties Genshin Impact runs without critical lags, but the graphics presets themselves will have to be significantly omitted. The increased dimensions of the phablet made it possible to place an efficient cooling system inside the unit, with which throttling is almost zero. A huge 6000mAh battery, coupled with the energy efficiency of the processor, guarantees about 10-12 hours of active screen time. As autonomy raises no questions, so does the amount of internal storage, because the size of the ROM has been increased to 256GB while retaining the slot for MicroSD cards.
64-, 20- and 8-megapixel photo modules are one of the weaknesses of the device. If the sensors really try to please the mobile photographer with the detail of daytime shots, then the mobility of objects or the deterioration of lighting significantly complicates the task of creating at least a satisfactory frame. Noise, smear, narrow dynamic range - this is not an exhaustive list of potential difficulties. The dedicated night vision module is more of pampering and entertainment than a serious photography tool. With the sound, everything is also controversial. There is no separate headphone jack, the mono speaker is loud, but unbalanced in terms of frequency response. But wireless charging and NFC contactless payments are present in the Android phone. As a result, the device turned out to be technologically advanced, functional, of high quality and at the same time not very expensive, albeit not without flaws. Is this not a sign of future commercial success?
