Doogee V50 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Doogee V50 Pro Overview
The Doogee V50 Pro – a long-awaited, but unfinished evolution
The Chinese company Doogee has decided to significantly update its range of IP69 dust- and water-resistant smartphones. Both the technical specifications and other features of the new models have been significantly upgraded. While their ergonomics and deliberately rugged aesthetics may still not appeal to everyone, it's hard not to notice the significant improvement.
The appearance of this review subject, as noted earlier, is controversial. The excessive size of the all-in-one device and the thick screen bezels may evoke negative reactions. However, it's hard not to praise the developer's originality in the texture selection of the rubberized rear panel, the design of the photo module assembly, and the placement of the secondary 2.06-inch AMOLED screen. There's also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The main display uses outdated IPS technology to reduce costs. Unfortunately, this has affected the peak brightness. 550 nits isn't always enough to view content in direct sunlight. However, the 6.78-inch IPS panel boasts a respectable 2460x1080 resolution for a diagonal display, smooth images at a 120 Hz refresh rate, and calibrated color reproduction.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor is not new, but it's a well-balanced solution, paired with 12 GB of RAM and a Mali G615MC6 graphics core. A score of 1,300,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark guarantees that users will hardly experience any lag in the Android 16 interface. Modern games run at high, and in some cases, maximum, graphics presets with a stable frame rate of 50-60 frames per second. The 11,000mAh battery, coupled with the chipset's energy efficiency, demonstrates exceptional battery life. You can forget about power banks and outlets for 3-4 days. Wireless charging was apparently left for future upgrades, but wired charging has been boosted to 66W. Internal storage is 512GB/1024GB, with a MicroSD card slot not forgotten.
Photography capabilities are impressive. While the main 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor could have benefited from hybrid image stabilization, even without it, the chances of capturing high-quality evening photos without noise or blur are high. In addition to the good, but not universally needed, 64MP monochrome night vision sensor, the list of auxiliary modules includes an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a wide-angle lens, also 8MP. Rich and loud stereo sound, support for 5G networks and NFC contactless payment, an IR port, and a price tag that's affordable for today's market, along with the listed advantages, make this device a contender for commercial success.
