Doogee V50 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Doogee V50 Overview
Doogee V50 - Why Overpay?
The differences between the standard and Pro versions of this smartphone range from negligible to gargantuan, depending on the manufacturer. Doogee typically occupies a middle ground in this regard, with the additional cost for the upgraded version simply matching the upgraded version. However, today's review subject is significantly cheaper than its upgraded sibling, without being significantly inferior.
The new device's appearance is modern and attractive for a rugged, all-in-one device with IP69 water resistance. Of course, users will have to put up with poor ergonomics due to the device's weight and bulk. However, it's hard not to praise the developer for the stunning color scheme of the rear panels, their beautiful textures, the modern design of the photo module assembly, and the convenient side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The 6.78-inch IPS panel still evokes mixed feelings. Its main issue is its brightness. Still, 600-650 nits isn't enough for comfortable use with the mobile assistant in direct sunlight. However, it's hard to find fault with the smoothness of the image at a 120 Hz refresh rate, the quality of color reproduction, or the clarity at a resolution of 2460x1080 pixels.
The technical specifications remain unchanged, which is a good thing. The combination of a successful MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor with 5G support, 12 GB of RAM, and a Mali G615MC6 graphics adapter helps you enjoy both the very stable operation of the Android 16 OS and the smooth playback of any resource-intensive games at high or even maximum graphics settings. Throttling is virtually nonexistent, as is heating. The battery life of the 11,000 mAh battery is sufficient for 3-4 days of active use. There's no wireless charging, but that's not much of a disappointment, as there's a fast 66W wired alternative. Storage is limited to 256GB, but it can be expanded with a MicroSD card.
Photography is superior to many competitors. Putting aside the peculiar 20-megapixel night vision sensor, let's consider the other sensors. The main 200-megapixel module from Samsung, a full-fledged 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens offer a wide range of shooting scenarios. You can even try evening photo shoots. The results will be somewhat marred by noise and blur, but detail will be preserved. Loud speakers with a relatively smooth frequency response, NFC contactless payments, and an IR port complete the portrait of one of the most interesting gadgets in its class.
