Hotwav Cyber 13 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
HOTWAV Cyber 13 Overview
HOTWAV Cyber 13 - an example of proper savings
Creating a simplified version of a popular smartphone is not always an easy task for the manufacturer, because sometimes even minor changes in technical specifications can lead to the updated device losing all the magic of its predecessor. However, in the case of the hero of today's review, the Chinese company Hotwav avoided trouble.
The appearance of the new product is completely identical to that of the previous model. Before us is a durable rubberized monoblock with a side fingerprint sensor, a massive, but stylish block of photo modules, additional LED flashlights. Unfortunately, the standard shortcomings for phones with moisture protection according to IP68 standards are also in place. The impressive dimensions of the monoblock and, as a result, mediocre ergonomics, thick display frames, irrelevant design of the 16-megapixel selfie camera are unlikely to leave a positive impression. The IPS screen, which exceeds the diagonal of 6.5 inches, has become simpler. If the brightness reserve is about the same, then the color rendering is more faded, the image clarity has dropped at a resolution of 1612x720 pixels.
But the UNISOC Tiger T606 processor is almost as good in benchmarks as the previously used T619. The CPU, together with 8 GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC1 video adapter, minimizes the lags of the fresh Android 14. The performance is no longer enough for resource-intensive gaming applications, but even the closest opponents of the phablet will not be able to provide smooth gameplay in the same Genshin Impact. The energy efficiency of the chipset is impressive, from a 10800 mAh battery you can always get up to 3-4 days of active use of the mobile assistant. But the battery charging power of 10W is depressing, the device needs to be near the outlet for more than five hours. The size of the permanent memory has been adjusted and is now 128 GB, but it can be expanded with microSD cards.
The main 64- (the main Sony IMX686 sensor without optical stabilization) and 0.08-megapixel portrait lens provide good photographic capabilities for the price segment. Excellent detail and color rendition in daytime photos do not cause complaints, there is also a chance to capture decent evening shots if there is no dynamics in the events taking place. The situation is less positive in terms of sound. There are no stereo speakers, as well as a separate headphone jack. But the list of advantages is replenished with the presence of contactless payments NFC. Thus, the device under review has lost in price, but not in functionality, which definitely allows us to recommend it for purchase.
