Hotwav Hyper 7 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
HOTWAV Hyper 7 5G Overview
HOTWAV Hyper 7 5G - a hit candidate?
The Chinese company Hotwav has set its sights on conquering the mid-price segment of the rugged smartphone market, which is noticeable by the increasing number of new models. At the same time, the quality of these phones is gradually improving with a more than democratic pricing policy of the manufacturer. And it is possible that the hero of today's review will already be quite capable of claiming the title of bestseller.
The appearance of the new product will be remembered for a long time thanks to the extremely stylish back panel. The photo module block, the interesting RGB notification indicator, and the futuristic texture of the monoblock are all successful. There is also a convenient side fingerprint scanner. However, protection from dust and moisture according to IP68 standards and the presence of a large battery still brought several unpleasant moments to the design. Thus, the thickness of the rubberized case is large, the display frames are wide. And the form factor of the 32-megapixel selfie camera could be modern. The IPS panel itself has an excellent refresh rate of 120 Hz. The images are smooth and natural in terms of color rendering. There are no questions about the clarity of the content at FullHD+ resolution, but the peak brightness of only 500 nits noticeably spoils the impression. Working with the phablet in the summer in direct sunlight is practically unrealistic.
But in terms of technical characteristics, the gadget bypasses many opponents. The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, 8 GB of RAM and the Mali G68-MC4 video accelerator score a respectable 550 thousand points in the AnTuTu test and organize the stable operation of the Android 14 interface. The mentioned chipset will not disappoint gamers either. In the most resource-intensive projects, it is recommended to set low-medium graphic presets, and something simpler like PUBG Mobile feels great even at maximum graphics settings. At the same time, a decent cooling system helps to avoid throttling and excessive heating. The 10800 mAh battery solves all potential problems with autonomy, bringing it to 15-20 hours of screen time. Fast charging at 33W, unfortunately, can only nominally be considered as such, because you will have to be near the outlet for a really long time. 256 GB of permanent memory is allocated, and there is also a slot for MicroSD cards.
The main 64- and 2-megapixel cameras do not have optical stabilization, but they leave not the worst emotions. Daytime photos are rich, detailed, not replete with multiple noises. Of course, evening shots are not so great, but there are not so many blurred objects, and there is noise reduction. There is no stereo sound, but the only speaker does not upset the balance of the frequency range and volume. Contactless payments NFC, support for 5G networks, WiFi 6 add to the list of advantages of the device and make it even more relevant.
