Huawei Mate X6 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
HUAWEI Mate X6 Overview
HUAWEI Mate X6 - a premium flagship not for everyone
The Chinese company Huawei, although still on everyone's lips among electronics enthusiasts, still cannot boast of its former popularity. Still, the lack of Google services, current chipsets from Qualcomm and MediaTek, as well as its own operating system HarmonyOS impose significant restrictions on the attractiveness of the corporation's products for international users. However, the hero of today's review will still find many fans thanks to a ton of competitive advantages that allow us to at least partially close our eyes to the aforementioned features.
The appearance of the new product will impress anyone, because we have one of the most ergonomic folding phones in front of us. The variety of colors of the back panels, stylized as leather or marble, a stylish block of four photo modules, thin frames of both the additional 6.45-inch (2440x1080 pixels) and the main 7.93-inch AMOLED displays (2440x2240 pixels), a metal frame with a side fingerprint sensor make an extremely positive impression. As for the AMOLED panels, in addition to good picture clarity, they offer its smoothness at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, excellently calibrated color rendition, minimal PWM effect and peak brightness of more than 2500 nits. Of course, it could not do without a high-quality oleophobic coating.
But there are questions about the technical characteristics. The proprietary Kirin 9020 CPU with 5G support shows about 1,200,000 points in the AnTuTu test, a two-fold lag behind its opponents. However, the chipset, together with 12 GB of RAM and the Maleoon 920 video core, still copes not only with the OS interface and instant launch of applications, but also with resource-intensive games. However, to maintain framerate stability in projects like Genshin Impact, it is recommended to set medium-high graphic presets. The situation with autonomy is not the best. The small thickness of the monoblock was achieved largely due to the use of a 5110 mAh battery. The impressive power consumption of an almost 8-inch AMOLED screen leads to only 7-8 hours of screen time. But there is also fast wired charging at 66 W, and its wireless counterpart at 50 W. Internal storage 256/512 GB without expansion with MicroSD cards.
Mobile photographers will appreciate the technological RYYB modules with increased color coverage. The main 50-megapixel sensor, 48-megapixel telephoto lens with four-fold optical zoom are equipped with hybrid stabilization, they are also helped by a decent 40-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 1.5 megapixel spectral camera. As a result, we have one of the best camera phones, which easily copes even with shooting dynamic scenes in the evening. Detailing of even small objects is at its best. Among other advantages, we highlight the IR port for controlling household appliances, contactless payments NFC. But there is no full moisture protection due to the design. Thus, the device turned out to be expensive, definitely not ideal, but still original, recognizable and interesting.
