Honor 100 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor 100 Pro Overview
Honor 100 Pro - cheaper and more balanced than flagships?
Up to a certain point, smartphones of the highest price segment from the Chinese company Honor were simply incredibly popular among fans of mobile electronics. These were extremely beautiful, technologically advanced devices with affordable prices compared to their opponents. But things soon worsened due to sanctions imposed on the parent corporation Huawei and related financial and logistical problems. However, today the world-famous developer has restored its former power and is ready to surprise again.
The appearance of the new product resembles that of its predecessor, but is improved in a number of aspects. The display frames are even thinner around the entire perimeter, the dual selfie camera lens is smaller (50MP and 2MP sensors), and the triple camera unit is more original. It’s hard not to praise the glass and metal body for its excellent tactile sensations. The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen has not changed in terms of resolution (2700x1224 pixels), but has gotten rid of the PWM effect and has seriously increased its peak brightness (more than 2000 nits). The 120-Hz picture refresh rate has not disappeared, and the built-in fingerprint scanner has become more accurate.
The technical characteristics are slightly inferior to the top solutions of the current year in terms of performance, but the combination of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, 12GB/16GB of RAM and the Adreno 740 video accelerator has significantly reduced the final cost of the phablet. At the same time, all existing games and applications launch and function without any lags, and the Android 14 interface is free of stutters. The situation is unlikely to change in the next couple of years. The processor used is characterized by excellent energy efficiency, so the 5000 mAh battery consistently provides up to 9-10 hours of active screen time. Wireless charging is present (66W), but you will have to spend a few minutes at a power outlet thanks to the fast wired alternative with a power of 100W. 256/512/1024GB of ROM eliminate the potential shortage of permanent memory.
The 50-megapixel main Sony IMX906 photo module, 32-megapixel telephoto lens (optical 3x zoom) and 12-megapixel wide-angle photosensor impress with its photographic capabilities; in addition, the software has been improved and image processing algorithms have been optimized. As a result, evening photos and videos are now even more detailed, and the amount of noise is reduced. The resulting material is not much inferior to that of flagship cameras at twice the price. Stereo sound is also not upsetting. It is loud, rich, pleasant to the ear. The modern device has NFC contactless payment, modem support for 5G networks, and an infrared port for controlling household appliances. Thus, the gadget in question claims to be an international hit thanks to a lot of advantages and competitive advantages.
