Honor 300 Ultra Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor 300 Ultra Overview
Honor 300 Ultra - not the most necessary overpayment
At the end of the year, the Chinese company Honor decided to surprise its fans with a sub-flagship smartphone with an Ultra index. However, with a noticeable increase in price compared to the Pro model, the real differences between the phones have to be looked for almost with a magnifying glass. For what new functionality does the manufacturer want extra money?
The appearance of the new product is virtually identical to that of its slightly cheaper predecessor. Only the colors of the glass back panels have changed. The shape of the photo module block, the ergonomics of the case with a metal edging, the thickness of the screen frames with a dual selfie camera (50MP + 2MP) and a built-in fingerprint scanner are the same. But this fact cannot be written down as a disadvantage, because the exterior looks stylish and expensive. The 6.78-inch AMOLED panel does not disappoint with the clarity of the picture at a resolution of 2700 x 1224 pixels. The developers have perfectly calibrated the color rendering, did not forget about the high peak brightness of the image (more than 4000 nits), its smoothness at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Also, as a bonus to all of the above, there is a high-quality oleophobic coating.
The technical characteristics include last year's top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, 12/16 GB of RAM and an Adreno 750 video core. The bundle is extremely productive, it will suit both ordinary users and gamers. Launching applications in the Android 15 OS occurs in a matter of seconds, and the performance of even resource-intensive projects like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero is at the highest level. Even with maximum graphics presets, the frame rate remains stable. Throttling is insignificant, heating of the monoblock is not critical. The processor's energy efficiency is good, the 5300mAh battery is enough for 8-9 hours of active screen time in most cases. Wired charging at 100W is complemented by an impressive wireless analog at 80W. ROM is allocated 512/1024 GB of UFS 4.0 format.
The device's photo capabilities are excellent, although they fall short of those of real camera phones. The 50-megapixel main Sony IMX906 photo sensor and IMX858 periscope telephoto lens (4x optical zoom) are equipped with hybrid stabilization and cope with their duties perfectly in both daytime and evening lighting conditions. But the 12-megapixel wide-angle module is noticeably less impressive. The stereo speakers are loud, the sound is voluminous, inexpensive Bluetooth speakers can be safely left on the far shelf in the closet. NFC contactless payments, water resistance (IP65), support for 5G networks and sending text messages via satellite communications make the gadget more attractive, but purchasing the Pro version seems to be a more rational decision.
