Honor 600 Smart Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor 600 Smart Overview
The Honor 600 Smart is a missing link in a successful chain.
The 600 series of mid-range smartphones from the Chinese company Honor are diverse and uniformly excellent in terms of price-quality ratio. However, this situation lasted only until the release of the model we're reviewing today. In an effort to reduce costs, the developer made some very strange decisions that are unlikely to appeal to the majority of the audience.
The appearance of the new device is unimpressive. Yes, the color scheme of the all-in-one display is austere and stylish, there's a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a beautiful camera module. However, the plastic used is cheap and not particularly pleasant to the touch, there's no full water resistance, and the screen bezels are wide by today's standards. The 6.87-inch IPS panel offers a very low resolution of 1592x720 pixels for such a large screen. High definition content is out of the question. However, the maximum brightness (1020 nits) is decent for an outdated technology, and the image is smooth at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. However, color reproduction is dull compared to AMOLED displays.
The technical specifications include a fourth-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 613 GPU. This combination supports 5G networks and scores a respectable 450,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark, but its potential is completely limited by the RAM capacity. Resource-intensive games will lag at virtually any graphics setting, and sometimes even crash to the desktop. Thankfully, the Android 16 interface at least doesn't suffer from stuttering during everyday use. The internal storage is 128 GB, which isn't exactly a huge amount of storage. However, the 7700mAh battery with 45W fast charging guarantees excellent battery life of 12-15 hours of screen time.
Photography capabilities are basic. Taking artistic shots with the small 50-megapixel sensor without optical image stabilization and the 2-megapixel portrait sensor is difficult, even during the day. In poor lighting, blur and noise are unavoidable. There's no stereo sound, so you won't miss a call, but you'll hardly be able to enjoy music either. However, there is NFC contactless payments. Ultimately, this is a very unbalanced device that won't inspire a ton of excitement.
