Honor 600 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor 600 Overview
Honor 600 - From the Best to the Mediocre
The Chinese company Honor certainly knows how to create stunning smartphones in every respect. These phones are successful regardless of price point. The 200 models, for example, were excellent in both performance and photography, and still look impressive today. Unfortunately, the subject of today's review, although a successor to these bestsellers, is even inferior in several respects.
The appearance of the new device is impressive. This relatively inexpensive device impresses with stylish glass rear panels, a camera module similar to that of the new Apple iPhones, a metal frame, and extremely thin screen bezels with an integrated fingerprint scanner. We also highlight the IP68 water resistance. The 6.57-inch AMOLED display has a resolution of 2728x1264 pixels, providing excellent image clarity. There's also a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth content, and a peak brightness of over 2500 nits. There are no obvious issues with color reproduction, and the display features an oleophobic coating.
The technical specifications are impeccable. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, 8GB/12GB RAM, and Adreno 722 GPU don't set any performance records, but they achieve a respectable 1,150,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark and handle the Android 16 interface brilliantly. Gamers won't be left without their favorite games, as the chipset is capable of running Fortnite, Genshin Impact, and similarly resource-intensive games at medium-high graphics settings. The battery capacity has reached 7000mAh (6400mAh in some regional versions), so battery life is sure to be impressive. The screen-on time is rated at 12-15 hours. Wireless charging is absent, but a wired 80W charger means you'll rarely need to rely on power banks or nearby outlets. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB, with no microSD card slot.
However, photography capabilities are still weaker than those of its predecessors. There's no telephoto lens, making it difficult to capture distant objects. However, the secondary 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor is quite good. The main 200-megapixel sensor from Samsung with hybrid stabilization is capable of capturing highly detailed photos even in the evening, with minimal noise even in fast-moving situations. Stereo sound is average. It's loud enough, but lacks bass. As for other advantages, NFC contactless payments and 5G support are also available. Thus, this is a competitive device, but not quite as perfect as the original. Simplified cameras and a higher price tag still won't make the device a definite hit.
