Honor 80 GT Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor 80 GT Overview
Honor 80 GT - performance compromises
Modern flagship smartphones are becoming more powerful, but so are their price tags. Unfortunately, not every user can afford such expenses, but any fan of mobile electronics wants to get a top-end processor in his device. The hero of today's review will fulfill such dreams for a relatively modest amount of money, but the Chinese company Honor had to make significant simplifications.
The appearance of the novelty is attractive, but not without flaws. Both the corporate design of the triple camera and the beautiful texture of the back panel, small display frames, and a convenient and at the same time accurate side fingerprint scanner remained in place. However, the case itself is made of plastic, which worsens the tactile sensations from the phablet, and the durability of such material is mediocre. The 6.81-inch IPS display is one of the biggest savings. The brightness of the picture is low, and there is no color saturation of AMOLED panels. But there will be no complaints about the criteria of smoothness (144 Hz frequency) and clarity (resolution of 2400x1080 pixels).
The technical characteristics are the outstanding Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU, 8GB / 12GB of RAM and the Adreno 730 video adapter. This bundle also boasts a competent cooling system, thanks to which it gains significantly more than a million points in the AnTuTu benchmark and organizes the smooth operation of any resource-intensive games. Genshin Impact, Wreckfest and Fortnite will look impressive at maximum graphics settings. Battery capacity is also not in question. A 5000 mAh battery is a guarantee of confident 7-8 hours of active screen time, regardless of the complexity of the tasks performed. As for the size of the internal memory, it has reached 128/256GB of ROM, the expansion of which is not provided.
The photo capabilities of the main 64-, 8- and 2-megapixel cameras cannot be considered wide. The lack of optical stabilization and the use of inexpensive lenses negatively affect the quality of photos and videos taken in the evening. However, there are few problems with daytime shots, they do not have noise or blurry details. Stereo sound is present, in terms of volume and frequency response balance it is close to that of the flagships. NFC contactless payments, support for 5G networks, Android 13 expand the list of the model’s pluses, while the minuses include the lack of moisture protection, wireless charging and touch trigger keys, despite the gaming focus of the gadget. But gamers will still love the device and bring its sales to impressive levels.
