Honor GT Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor GT Overview
Honor GT - an inexpensive miracle for gamers
"Flagship killers" have been delighting smartphone lovers around the world for over a decade. Such devices include phones with top or close to such technical characteristics, as well as simplified, but balanced and relevant other parameters. Perhaps, the term originated from such bestsellers as Xiaomi POCOPHONE F1 and OnePlus One. But models like the hero of today's review continue the victorious march of "killers" and make them even more interesting for many categories of buyers.
The appearance of the new product is stylish, although it is easy to find many traces of savings in it. So, instead of glass and metal, polycarbonate is used in the case structure, albeit quite high-quality. However, thin screen frames around the entire perimeter, an under-display fingerprint scanner, beautiful colors of the rear panels, a modern block of photo modules (though there are only two of them) and an ergonomic shape of the monoblock already add to the list of design advantages. The 6.7-inch AMOLED panel is extremely good. Both the peak brightness is high (4000 nits), and the resolution of 2664x1200 pixels is amazing for the chosen diagonal. We also note the smoothness of the content at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, natural color rendition and almost complete absence of the PWM effect.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor still causes real delight even among demanding gamers. Its performance is around a couple of million points in the AnTuTu test, so any resource-intensive games will not make the chipset give in even at maximum graphics settings. Of course, such a result would be impossible without 12/16 GB of RAM and the Adreno 750 video core. The Android 15 interface is very responsive, applications launch lightning fast. But there is a small fly in the ointment. So, the cooling system is not very effective, after an hour of gameplay, the heating of the device and throttling are noticeable, although it does not lead to strong lags. The battery of 5300 mAh is responsible for autonomy. Thanks to software optimization, the user will often observe more than 9-10 hours of active screen time. The power of fast wired charging is increased to an impressive 100 W, reducing the time spent near the outlet to 20-25 minutes. But there is no wireless alternative. The permanent memory is allocated 256/512/1024 GB of UFS 4.0 format.
The photo capabilities cannot be considered outstanding, because, at a minimum, there is no telephoto lens, and the 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor definitely does not like poor lighting conditions. But the main 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 module with hybrid stabilization copes even with complex shooting scenarios, conveying all the details of events without excess noise. The stereo speakers are loud, the sound is uniform, and the bass is audible. There is also support for 5G networks, NFC contactless payment, a gyroscope, but there is no FDD-LTE B7. The reason is that there is only a Chinese version of the phablet so far. But with the release of the global configuration, this problem will disappear, the device will be an even more attractive option for purchase.
