Honor Magic5 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor Magic5 Overview
Honor Magic5 is a perfect but rare smartphone
The Chinese company Honor consistently produces dozens of excellent products around the world, but does not forget to please the inhabitants of its homeland with technological innovations. Unfortunately for fans of mobile electronics from other countries, sometimes such devices are much more interesting than their international counterparts. The hero of today's review is a clear confirmation of this.
The appearance of the phablet partially repeats that of its predecessor, but the improvements are still noticeable. So, the display frames are now even thinner around the entire perimeter, the circular design of the cameras, the colors of the metal and glass cases have slightly changed. The fingerprint scanner is still under the screen, its accuracy has improved. The 6.73-inch AMOLED display relies on a huge margin of brightness, so the picture does not fade even in direct sunlight. Other parameters of the AMOLED panel also do not upset. A resolution of 2688x1224 pixels is enough for image clarity, a 120-Hz refresh rate gives the output content the necessary smoothness, and well-tuned color reproduction will allow you to get positive emotions even from ordinary web surfing.
Of course, the modern flagship is not without impressive performance specifications. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset (8GB / 12GB / 16GB RAM, Adreno 740 GPU) not only breaks records in benchmarks, but also features improved energy efficiency. That is why the processor is ready to give insanely smooth gameplay even in Fortnite and Genshin Impact, and up to 8-10 hours of active screen time from a 5100mAh battery. The battery was only rewarded with 66-watt fast wired charging, its wireless alternative is reserved for the older version. The internal storage is allocated 256/512GB, it will not be possible to expand it with MicroSD cards.
The 54- (main sensor from Sony), 50- (wide-angle lens) and 13-megapixel (telephoto lens with a zoom of two and a half times) photosensors strive to amaze with the abundance of shooting scenarios available. Night photos, moving objects, frames with a lot of small details and much more will be transferred to digital format without noise, loss of detail and other unpleasant things. Surprisingly, similar results are achieved without optical stabilization on the main photosensor. The stereo sound is rich, voluminous, and it does not hold volume. NFC contactless payments, support for 5G networks add to the list of pluses of an amazing Android smartphone.
