Honor Magic 7 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor Magic 7 Overview
Honor Magic 7 - a flagship with small compromises
The Magic line of smartphones from the Chinese company Honor has undergone huge changes over the past few years. From ordinary devices of the highest price category, its representatives have turned into some of the best mobile assistants by literally all possible criteria. And the hero of today's review only continues the trend, offering in addition to a set of its positive qualities also a democratic price. But what did they have to sacrifice to achieve it?
The appearance of the new product is remembered for a long time. A variety of colors of the back panels made of tempered glass, stylish round blocks of photo modules, minimal screen frames with a built-in fingerprint scanner and a metal edging make it clear that we are not dealing with the cheapest device. The 6.78-inch AMOLED display also does not disappoint. The resolution is decent, although not a record (2800x1260 pixels), there is no need to complain about the clarity of the content being reproduced. In addition to the 120 Hz refresh rate, the AMOLED panel provides an impressive peak brightness of 5000 nits, no PWM effect, perfectly calibrated color rendition, and an effective oleophobic coating.
The technical specifications include the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 4) CPU, 12 GB/16 GB of RAM, and the Adreno 830 video adapter, which together deliver more than 3 million points in the AnTuTu test. The performance reserve is gigantic, the Android 15 interface is fantastically smooth and responsive. Gamers will be able to immerse themselves in the worlds of Honkai: Star Rail, Genshin Impact, and other resource-intensive projects at maximum graphics settings. The 5650 mAh battery guarantees good autonomy, implemented by the latest chipset. 9-10 hours of active screen time will not be uncommon for the buyer. The 100W wired charger is complemented by an excellent 80W wireless alternative. The phablet class also includes internal storage of 256/512/1024GB.
The photo capabilities are close to those of the best camera phones. The main technological sensor from Omnivision and the telephoto lens with three-fold optical zoom are characterized by hybrid stabilization, and the wide-angle lens is also good. All modules are 50 megapixels. Complex shooting scenarios will not be an obstacle to creating highly detailed photos without visible noise and other artifacts. The stereo sound is loud, rich, although it is inferior to that of the older model. NFC contactless payments, 5G network support, an IR port for controlling household appliances and moisture protection according to IP69 standards make the device even more relevant and balanced, increasing its chances of commercial success.
