Honor Magic V6 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor Magic V6 Overview
Honor Magic V6 – On the Path to Perfection
Folding smartphones from the Chinese company Honor are among the most popular and technologically advanced in their class. However, the latest form factor has not been without its initial "teething problems," which take years to resolve. And it seems that the hero of today's review has overcome the vast majority of the problems of its predecessors.
The appearance of the new device is impressive. The incredibly slim foldable design, attractive color options with a variety of textures, the beautiful camera module design, thin screen bezels, and metal edging create a stunning exterior. Furthermore, it now boasts IP69 water resistance. Both the secondary 6.52-inch (2420x1080 pixels) and the main 7.95-inch (2352x2172 pixels) AMOLED panels deliver crisp images, smooth content at a 120 Hz refresh rate, natural color reproduction, and a peak brightness of over 5,000 nits. They are also built using LTPO technology, which has a positive impact on their energy efficiency.
The technical specifications include a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 840 GPU. A robust cooling system helps the processor achieve approximately 4,000,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark and keep it cool during extended gaming sessions. Throttling is only noticeable in benchmarks. Needless to say, all existing games run at maximum graphics settings with excellent frame rates, regardless of their resource consumption. The battery capacity has been increased to a respectable 7100 mAh (6660 mAh in some regional versions). As a result, battery life has increased to 9-10 hours of active screen time. Users can choose between 80W wired charging and 66W wireless charging. Storage options include 512GB or 1024GB.
The photography capabilities of the main 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 camera, the 64-megapixel telephoto lens (periscope, 3x optical zoom), both equipped with hybrid stabilization, and the wide-angle 50-megapixel lens are comparable to those of camera phones. Detail is high in any lighting conditions, noise is minimal, and blur and other artifacts are absent in photos and videos. The stereo sound is rich, loud, and spacious, without any noticeable flaws. Support for eSIM, NFC (contactless payments), 5G frequencies, and satellite communications (not available in all regions) make this gadget a coveted possession for millions of mobile electronics enthusiasts.
